Lawrence to weigh up future after ruling out Super League move

@happy_tiger That last 20 minutes last Sunday equates to an unnecessary heavier workload on players like Matterson. No wonder some players like Matterson are getting a bit touchy when "special" players like Farah seem to get all the favours.

They are good points as well he didn't do preseason with us and minimally with south's he may have been under done

So it took him 20 weeks to get fit?

I agree Russ, like I kept banging on with Tui when he was here, he was never gonna get fit and try hard, pretty much like Jennings, but plenty thought Tui would come good, I never wanted to sign Tui either.

Is this based on any sort of objective fact like for instance Matterson stating that he wasn't happy with Robbie getting any time even in those circumstances.

Personally if Matterson is like that I want him out of the club. I definitely don't think he is like that though.

You think Matterson and Twal would have carried Farah off on their shoulders if he resented him playing..I don't or the Lebanese dance he did for his 300th..

It's going to be a long off season...go fishing happy..

Maybe they secretly were planning to drop him and hope that he broke his leg again.

You'd hope he realizes once Aloiai is up and running again he will move back to an edge again

@hobbo1 people always mock madge for jennings, however he on paper is awesome. Tall strong finisher decent speed. He just hasn't performed. Added to that not every purchase will work. Every team buys their share of duds

Thing is, he's not that tall. And he has average to below average speed. Physically, he looks strong but doesn't use any physical prowess on the field at all.

Absolutely everything about him screams average. I don't think he's above average in any aspect of the game whatsoever.

He's at best a 150k backup winger. But even then he's too lazy for that role and to be pushing those ahead of him. He brings nothing to the table and should be pushed out the door asap. Bradley offers all Jennings does for a third of the price. No room for them both in our 30

Agreed.

For someone his size he should show more on impact. Sharks caught him out with his lack of acceleration then muscled him to the ground or in goal.

We need to move on from this guy

Doesn't work like that and you know it! Lawrence's offer is for minimum wage and he would need to be replaced, so not signing Lawrence will lead to his money going to his replacement!

@cochise rumoured Lawrence was on 300k they are offering him 100k, I would imagine they may have offered Matto some of that cap space - evidently not enough for either player to be happy. Possibly Lawrence goes to the media to claw some of the gap back before last round, possibly Matto goes to the media to get more than he is offered. If what matto wants is more than what we get back from Chris then it is a decision the club has to make. Chris or matto

I could be well of the mark with my thoughts on both the situation and the cap rules etc. but only those in the know know and we are left here to our own devices. Rumour and guesses. Off season!

I’m a 3rd off season veteran of this forum and it is always a fun and weird ride.

Possibly, but we can't not re-sign Chris and then use the money offered to him to upgrade Matto. I would guess that the difference between Chris' last contract and his new offer would have already been soaked up by upgrades to others, Aloiai etc!
