@Snake others in the Top 30 can go first. McQueen, Packer, Fonua ect. He is still in the starting 13. Even if he was in the second 13 there will still be space for him in the 30.

100 percent

@Snake mate who are we going to recruit? We can barley fill our top 30....lawernce is cheap...we won’t find better for the founds we have left.....unless packer, mats, McQueen all medically retire

If we had to either keep Lawrence for another year or blood a no-name nuffie id keep Lawrence for one more year .

At least Lawrence knows his role and knows our system.

If we could offload packer etc ....and sign a gun it’s bye bye Christopher !

I cannot believe this is even a question.. He is a one club player, Still only 30 (31 next year), Gets a discount, Won't cost a lot and give 100% every game.. No brainer for me and see him signing very soon..
If he was going the club would of announced it already so he could get the send off he deserves just like Benji is stating another year..

I don't like having ET and Lawrence in the same team. They are very different players but both are very good in defence but don't make many meters or threaten the line in attack.

If you have a player like that you need to balance him with a more attacking player. If you have players that are good in attack and defence that would be even better.

I must watch a different Lawrence...played 60min last week made 91m...week before played 80 against Manly we had bugger all possession he made 128m apart from Matterson our only forward to crack 100m in that game..

One of our only few who actually accelerate into the line...leaves everything on the field every game and plays for the team..unlike some of the other more talented pretenders in the game..hi Pongo..

Still holds his own, in my opinion and trust him to do the job more than most. If you can't get someone better for the same money - based on what he has contributed, and you want the same level of commitment from other players, who wear the jersey - he stays and you let every other player and the fans know why. That is building good club culture.

If it was a simple case of whether the club would like to keep him in the squad I think the overwhelming answer is YES, however a lot will depend on whether the players that need to be moved on are able to be. Players that are not contributing such as Mats, Packer, McQueen, Reynolds, Rochow, need to go to allow room to bring in new blood. If we can't make some room then the club may have no choice than to let go of some who are actually off contract - this could impact Rowdy. Personally I hope not.

@madunit

I actually have seen a change in Taylor in recent games. I believe a stint in reggies and a bit of time out of favour has sparked his enthusiasm. He is running harder and working very hard in D when he gets on the field. I think he has played pretty well recently. Is he off contract this year or end of next?

He's not NRL quality anymore though.

I believe his contract has an option in his favour for next year.

I don't think he does

Of course he is. He's not dynamite but he's easily NRL quality.

Every club needs at least 4 backrowers and there's no way Rowdy isn't amongst the top ~64 backrow options in the competition.

Not great timing, Lawrence...

Tonight we talk to a Tiger who may be forced out of the club he loves - Chris Lawrence. He’s been at the top for 14 years - the way he’s had to fight for a new deal for over 12 months is pretty average. And he’s not happy. His story @9NewsSyd @NRLonNine
