Rowdy was also just interviewed on Triple M with MG...intimated he won't be at the Tigers next year based on the current offer.

If the club is only offering $100-120k, that is plain wrong. He is at first grade level, despite the huge injury setback that robbed him of weight and fitness, so to offer about one third of the salary cap average in the circumstances is disgusting to see.

It's really disappointing. When you have blokes like Packer, McQueen and Matulino on the books earning more than twice that next year it's hard to be not dirty if your Lawrence.

Yeah he deserves to go out better than this.

Its a real shame that were in this position but thats the reality of the salary cap and no-one is bigger than the club.

Lawrence is running a profitable business and needs to spend more time looking after it. What he is/will be earning playing football is at this stage in his football career inconsequential to the need for him to spend more time on his business.

The unfortunate reality is Lawrence is not in Madge’s plans next year. He rates Garner/Matterson higher. The club has offered him a token contract, because that is all the can “afford” thanks to the cap mess Cleary has left..I’m sure a $200k+ contract, similar to Benji and Farah’s would have been offered had we had the cap space...I feel for Chris, but I’m disappointed he chose to be interviewed over it in the lead up to such a crucial game for him and the club....

Probably not a good time to be coming off contract for Chris and to be fair he is not the future of the club.I would hope a more equitable figure can be agreed to.
It is a pity its Lawrence but its about time that the club finally started to give players towards the end of their career realistic payments and not golden handshakes

And it’s not like he wasn’t looked after by the club when he was totally busted .

Chris took a pay cut 2 years ago and extended it by 1 year, he's only on $300K a season that's not over priced for a good backup.

Doing an interview with Weidler about contracts the week leading up to the biggest game since 2016 will not get you a new contract with Madge.
It’s poor form should be kept in house.

Hence the low offer.

Agree, Tyga. Poor form by Lawrence and his management.

if anything this tells me there is room for at least one more club in the NRL.

The nrl may not have the money to support one more club but I think one more club takes the advantage away from clubs like the roosters storm and broncos and gives guys like Chris an opportunity to play on in the NRL.

Very surprised that he would talk publicly about this. A little disappointed too. I thought he was better than this. Have to wonder if anyone has been advising him.

Coached by Tim Sheens lol

This isn’t something you expect from Chris Lawrence. Although you can understand his frustrations.
