i love the guy as a human being..

but i was glad when he came off injured. it was a blessing in disguise..

dont mean to sound nasty, but enough is enough. he needs either time to fully recover (without playing) or be brought back through NSW cup.

Something is not right. I suspected hamstrings a problem for a while. He came back from that horrific hip injury and looked ok till he done hamstrings in a game against St George . Never looked the same since

Definitely can't say I was glad to see him come off injured but agree that it was a blessing in disguise sad to say. His defence was tonight and has been abysmal. Time to shake hands, thanks for the good times and move on….professional sport waits for no-one unfortunately, successful organisations spot deficiencies in their roster and act on it.

Sad to see one of our favourite sons floundering like he is.

He's never going to get better and it isn't his fault. He's copped so much unwarranted garbage from people over the last 12 months for his form which would be ok, but people have been ignorant to the fact that it was due to an almost crippling injury and just assumed that it was from laziness, but they are finally starting to realize why. Finally, it took people long enough. Its made me wonder recently what if Simon Dwyer somehow made a miracle comeback. If he were to comeback the guy would never be the same obviously, so would people be just as callous in their opinions of his form? i very much doubt it, but then again after the way people talk about Lawrence maybe they would. Got to remember the injury Lawrence suffered was the same kind of injury that Dwyer suffered, on a much lesser scale of course but its been very detrimental and ruined his career. He was set to be the best center in the world, now all he's capable of being is a solid first grader. Its just unbelievable the amount of talent that was flushed down the toilet due to one injury. And if you remember the injury was in the last 5 mins of the game and we were up by 20 which made the injury even more senseless

I don't want to give up on him completely just yet, we owe the guy that much, but his days in the centers are over. I'd like to see him build up over summer and given a shot in the forwards, i've stated a lot of times that he has the potential to be another Luke Lewis. We always expect and demand the players to show loyalty to the club, was only a week before his injury he turned down a massive offer from the Dogs to stay loyal to us. Its time the fans start returning some of that loyalty to the players who deserve it, and there are none more deserving than the Rowdy one. He still has a lot to offer, its just a matter of finding the right spot for him to do so

Good idea in theory but sentiment won't win us a premiership unfortunately. As sad as it is to see, it is hard to see how he can fix his defensive issues, he just seems to have no idea whether to charge out of the line or stay on his opposite number.
Playing at lock may help him with his defensive decision making but we have better options at lock anyhow. Can't really see where he would fit in the team if not at centre.

He and Anasta are in the same boat

If Lawrence isn't in the centres we have better options in the positions that everyone is mentioning

If Anasta isn't in the halves we have better options in the positions that everyone is mentioning

You could throw Ayshford into that same boat also

I've been impressed with Ayshford this year. I might be the minority, but he's been hitting the line hard and defending well. He's worth persevering with. He looked especially good last night until he injured himself

Yeah I think Ayshford has been much better this year especially given the form and changes of players around him. Lawrence I hope maybe this injury gives him time to get everything right before he comes back again

Sorry wasn't knocking Ayshford ,just saying he is either a centre or nothing We have far better options coming through

The thing for me that sums up where Lawrances game has gone, is that I didn't even realise he was missing in the second half. Possibly lack of awareness on my behalf but like most people I've always been a fan of him, but to not even notice him missing for me, shows where these injuries have taken his game.

But thats the scary thing They stop attacking one weakness because he goes off injured and then start on the next weakness in our side

We can't expect to compete with the best sides with so many issues . Their is still heaps of fight in the dog ,but it is missing two legs and can barely see

GNR4 You are spot on, i couldnt of put it any better myself, some of the people on this Forum have been death riding some players for a while. Some hear will be happy with the injuries to certain players last night, very sad.

I reckon that is a crock of poo TB Every person on this forum without mental issues wants to see Rowdy back at his best , but like myself are being realistic that the Lawrence you currently see is probably the best it gets and it doesn't cut it any way you look at it

And to say that people are happy to see blokes possibly lose their careers last night is madness

GNR we all recognize that Rowdy is giving 1000% on and off the field , but unfortunately what he offers doesn't stand up and we of any club can't afford to carry any underperforming players anymore

As Bob Dylan said "The times they are a changin " We may not like it ,but they are and it might take us years to rebuild

Tigers supporters are going to hang tough and accept the inevitable

I didn't say people have been death riding him, just have been ignorant as why his form has been way down, thankfully people are starting to recognize why. People want to see him gone, i'm just saying giving him a chance in the back row to re-invent himself before giving up on him completely. I don't think thats too unreasonable

GNR4LIFE I said some people on here seem to be death riding some players meaning they seem to hope they dont play well, not death riding them to get injured, i hope that clears that up. Hope you see what i am getting at Happy. I probably didnt word it correctly.

In a NRL franchise there is no place for sentimentality if you want to be a powerhouse club and sentimentality has been the core value of this club for years.

If we cannot get out of Chris's contract then he needs to be in State Cup learning his new trade as a backrower. If that doesn't suit him then a heartfelt thankyou for all his work over the years but bye bye.

You can't just terminate a players contract though. The club needs to have just cause (aka Dugan) or you need another club to take him on (Which I think Rowdy would need to agree to).

I agree with the sentiments here though. It looks like Lawrence is way past his best. It's so sad, but we need to start looking at options for the long term.
