In a NRL franchise there is no place for sentimentality if you want to be a powerhouse club and sentimentality has been the core value of this club for years.

If we cannot get out of Chris's contract then he needs to be in State Cup learning his new trade as a backrower. If that doesn't suit him then a heartfelt thankyou for all his work over the years but bye bye.

But he's really been the worst on field for us almost every game this year.

Play him for the rest of the year in State Cup when he returns from injury and go from there.

If Rowdy comes good and smashes it in State Cup we can promote him. If the player who takes his spot is awful… well, we're screwed either way.

I didn't say people have been death riding him, **just have been ignorant as to why his form has been way down**, thankfully people are starting to recognize why. People want to see him gone, i'm just saying give him a chance in the back row to re-invent himself before giving up on him completely. I don't think thats too unreasonable

dont think there are many.
we all know its the injuries that changed him.
but persisting with him and praying for him to miraculously recover wont win us games.
im happy to give him another chance for sure… but the nrl is not the place for it... NSW cup is where he belongs (no matter how good he used to be).. like it or not he just isnt at an nrl standard (at the moment)

What I think the Lawrence situation shows is that the entireity of the clubs strength & conditioning along with high performance unit who remain and were at the club 2012 and before need to be sacked ASAP.

Chris has had hamstring problems since he started bulking up after coming into grade. Why has he been encouraged to put on size he does not require which put the muscle group under more strain then required?

We can buy probs and make them shed size but not a centre whose career is in jeopardy because of it.

The entire football department assembled under the previous regime needs to go because we a a utter joke

Mate totally agree. I love the guy and every game I am hoping he will have a big one but it just hasn't happened. Sad but even I a big fan of Lawrence must concede it's not going to happen.My memories will always be of him running away from Slater from a set scrum play…..What could f been

He has gone from being nearly for selected for State of Origin to not even being selected in the Fans/Supporters Dream Team. Real shame for someone who once burst into FG as a young school boy with a HUGE future.

Injuries end dreams , TUKS , DWYER and probably more i cant think of right now.

you know as i was watching the game the other night i had the same thought. last year was one plagued with a freakish amount of injuries and now only 8 rounds into this season the injury list is nigh unfathomable!

surely people at the club have to look at what is going on with the conditioning side of things? sure, injuries are always going to happen - particularly in tackles - but two examples (i think) of something very wrong are tedesco's knee last season and moltzens last week. way back when i did my acl, it was because i was too top heavy. surely in this day this cant still be the case?

anyone have an informed view of this? because i would really like to get an opinion from someone who can explain it.

If the figures that have been splashed around that Lawrence is on roughly $350 000 a season are correct then for that money I would prefer to buy a bloody good, proven forward (which we should be able to pick up in that price-range) than persevere with Rowdy in the hope that MAYBE he could transform into a decent forward. That is a fair whack of cash to just have wasted.

He seems like a champion bloke but unfortunately good blokes don't win you premierships, good players do. I'm sure Chris Patterson and Jackson Kaufusi are good blokes too, but would anyone still want them playing for us just because of that reason?

Have to agree. Sad, but it is all part and parcel of the game.
