Least favourite caller and commentator

For tv I hate with a passion Sterlo and Gould.

Sterlo because he appears thoroughly jealous of todays athlete in the way he talks down players. Its also his condescending nature. Remember the old days when he used to stop the play and draw white circles and arrows all over the screen? I used to sit there saying to myself 'yeah no sh!t Sterlo….we're not stupid!'.

Gould is just an 'I am' man. 'I' said this would happen...'I' had a word to him about his passing game....its like 'I' said. Nearly all of his 'analysis' comes after play has broken down. Very rarely does he put his balls on the line prior to any sort of action....parden me he did last year when he triumphantly announced after origin 2 that 'I told you all that NSW will win this series and win it well'. Made himself look like an absolute clown when they were flogged in the decider lol....

There is no greater example of a person in the wrong occupation than Laurie Daley and every time Ray Hadley opens his mouth, I just want to run as far away as possible - whinge, b!tch, moan complain!

Laurie Daley is the worst commentator. His analysis of the game is woeful. His insight zero. His bias terrible.

The commentators at the Warriors home games are dreadful, and the ABC radio commentators for Cowboys home games (Laurie Spina is one of them) are a blight on the game. Shocking.

1: Laurie Daley
2: Daylight

He is evidence that a great player does not transfer to great commentator.

Phil Gould is a wanna be know it all. I don't understand why anyone thinks his comments on the game are educational. He truly thinks he is the Messiah. I hate his tantrums when he thinks everyone should listen to him and follow him and he knows all, like when he meets the CEO's or David Gallop.

Yeah Lozza Daley for me to. The finals game in 2010 when we played the raiders in Canberra was a disgrace. Even watching the replay of the game after we'd already won it, I wanted to kick the telly in cause of his bias, Canberra are the victims attitude.

Sterlo should never be allowed anywhere near the com-box when Parra are playing. His bias with Parra is revolting.

Andy Raymond was just as disgraceful that night

I dont mind the TV Guys that much - even when its Vossy, Johns and Fittler laughing their way through the B game on a friday night - it's light hearted stuff amongst three guys who have a real love for the game.

Never minded 2gb/2ue callers - just SO MUCH ADVERTISING in between changes - e.g "around the grounds for Dons Meats"

Love the ABC radio commentary. Simply the best.

However the flat out WORST WORST commentators are the New Zealand guys calling a warriors game on radio at mount smart. They are the most one-eyed, biased, horrible commentators I've ever seen

I would have loved to have heard the radio call of the tigers warriors game last year where we came back from 22-4 down with 17 minutes left to win it 26-22 - they would have been crying….

I'm not sure how often you have listened to them but believe it or not the kiwi's on the ABC aren't one bit bias towards the Warriors. When Ryan crossed in the corner to put us in front, if you had just turned the radio on and just heard the excitment without hearing which side crossed, you wouldn't have been able to tell if it was the Warriors or Tigers who had scored. The guys on TV however, yes they are completely bias and a disgrace. Unlike the guys on the radio, when Ryan scored you would have been able to hear a pin drop in the commentary box. For a game to turn out like that, and to have zero excitment as a commentator is a disgrace

Wally and Fatty at Origin time. Especially when NSW are losing!

Wally whenever he calls any Queensland team playing a non Queensland team…......always bias.

Ray Warren. A heady mixture of senility and self-importance…

My choice too and for the same reasons - he used to be the best but recently he has become an embarressment.

Can't believe that Danny Weidler's name hasn't been thrown up, apart from being a Mundine sychophant his column in the Sun Herald is one of the worst pieces of print journalism ever, I always have a look which name is on the masthead before going on to decide whether to read it or not.

He's more a journo than a commentator/caller. That's the only reason he hasn't been mentioned. Plenty of people on this forum dislike that guy.

Im surprised Sterlos been mentioned, I remember when he first started calling….he could predict what would and should happen 3 tackles ahead of it happening, much like he played.
I still enjoy listening to him.....often the only logical voice of reason when Rabs and Gus start waffling

I agree Ink. As an analyst of the game he is light years ahead of the other members of the nine team. It's almost a shame he never turned his mind to coaching but I guess he makes much more doing a less stressful job. If he ever wanted to coach origin I think he'd go pretty good.

Because he's a journo not a broadcaster
