Leichhardt Scoreboard

I've seen quite a bit of reference to this pic this evening, with the CEO and Chairwoman wasting time 'looking into it'. There's no need for this to turn into another WM v BT thread, but geez our priorities are seriously twisted when thKharwine biggest issue that can be found out of today's game is a scoreboard reference (which is apparently a LO tradition) from 1982?

When people start to whinge about stuff like this, we actually drive a wedge further through the club rather than uniting anyone. WM people pointing out any reference to Balmain (or vice versa) and calling on Mayer or Go to denounce it needs to stop, or our club will never move forward to be the force it could be. At the same time, Mayer and Go really need to stop giving rubbish like this air - ignore it and move on, there are bigger issues!

By bringing this up, you are giving it the attention you're claiming it doesn't deserve. Quite the oxymoron.

Oh..Isn't Leichardt the Magpies home ground? Fair enough to have Balmain there although i wouldn't encourage it.

I think it's a pretty cool idea.
If Mayer has a problem with it then it just further proves he is terrible for our club.

Nothing wrong with honouring tradition.
This isn't a case of "not letting go of the past". It's a subtle nod to a past era.

People get so worked up over nothing these days.

I think it's almost time for only one game a year at both Leichart and Campbeltown to remember the history. Unfortunately ground and corporate facilities (which is the $$) not up to standard. How manly people from Leichart way travel to Campbeltown and how many from Campbeltown to Leichart. Dogs missed belmore/parra Cumberland oval/st jubilee etc

I think it's kinda cool.

Not really that big a deal right? I think if they did that at ANZ or Cambo it would be a different story but trying to wipe out balmain references at LO is just silly. Especially if it's some type of tradition that adds to opposition teams hating coming to play there.

I'm all for evening up the JV, just choose your battles…this isn't one.

Amazingly right in front of the scoreboard are a Wests Magpies supporter fella in an old Victa sponsored jumper and another bloke in a Balmain Tigers jumper with Philips sponsorship, don't let go of your heritage fellas!.

Id rather we focussed on forging a Wests Tigers tradition

it happens after every game at leichhardt for as long as i can remember. im confident in saying that the scoreboard attendant after full time puts up the highest score from a tigers team against the opponent at leichhardt and makes the opposition nil. im guessing that in 1982 balmain put 35 on canberra hence the reference

And the scoreboard attendant referencing an old Balmain game on the scoreboard hinders us from doing this?

Congrats…you get it.

If the shoe was on the other foot the old Balmain lot would be up in arms. Once again it proves that both clubs should have done a Souths and told the league where to go instead of being in a dysfunctional 'marriage'.
