The Western Suburbs Magpies are pleased to announce that Leo "The Ledge" Epifania will coach our Ron Massey Cup (formerly called the Bundaberg Red Cup) team in 2013.

Leo is a Magpie man through and through with black and white blood pumping through his veins. A former Wests junior from Enfield Federals who played Presidents Cup in the early 80's for Wests before being graded in what was then called third grade in 1983 and making his first grade debut in 1984 and playing on until 1986\. After playing and coaching stints in France, England and NSW Country he eventually returned to Wests to coach the Jersey Flegg side from 2004-06 then the NSW Cup side from 2007-2011\. In 2012 he was assistant coach at Balmain/Ryde-Eastwood.

This is great news for the Magpies. Leo definitely has the talent and the passion to turn around the fortune of our club.

Good news for Wests in what will hopefully be a winning year in the RM Cup.

Good to hear also that WT will be sending excess WT NYC + WT NSW Cup players down to Wests Magpies

Definitely good to hear they have a decent coach. Surplus players going back to Wests will assist them in being very competetive. Looks like BNRU will now be standalone. May not have as big an impact as it sounds, as they only really used WT NYC players last year, bar the last few rounds.

Fingers crossed, and all being well, the Magpies will be a force to be reckoned with in Bundy Cup this year.
