Re: [Sack Madge](/topic/32172/sack-madge)
It's been a dreadful start to the year. Still there are signs that our very young spine could develop into something in the years ahead. AD, Laurie and Simpkin are the most exciting talents we've seen for awhile.
In all honestly it going to take a couple of season till we see the best of them. This is the first seasons we're starting to get past the disaster of the Ivan Cleary rebuild. Honestly it's only now that you can see the outline of the team Madge is wanting to build. I didn't think we've manage to get to this point until 2022. A great job has been done moving JRey and Benji on.
I know, I know I'm a Benji fan however what he's doing at Souths he couldn't have been doing here this year. He's making cameo appearances in one of the best backlines in the NRL. Here he'd become the main focus in the backline. We'll really only notice the benefit of Benji moving on in 2022 once these younger players have had more responsibly put on their shoulders for a season.
As for Brooks I'm still hoping he comes good. He's stuck with us when others jumped. He's playing with a spine that has about 15 combined games in their current respective positions between them. What do people expect! If Brooks doesn't show that it's working by the end of this season then Hastings gets to start in the 7 next year.
Let's not give up on this before it really begun. If they're going to evolve this time in the furnace will be the making of this team. Some of the players will be burnt off, some won't make it however let's not repeat the mistakes of the past again.
Building an era starts somewhere and this has the potential to be that turning point for the WT's. Let's not squander the opportunity, let's grind it out with the boys and see who's left standing in the end.
