Leva Li

I'm sick of Lawrence and Ayshford. I think that Leva Li could be the future of the club in the centres.

YES - I know Lawrence as injured and hasn't worked up to his old pace yet. honestly the guy would never have played for Australia if Sheens wasn't picking the team. I also know he scored two trys on the weekend but any half decent centre would've.

YES - I know two years ago Aysh was our best back but he just looks like he has no passion left for the game. he is predictable and just not the best on the park by any stretch.

Our centres are crap and we need to chuck them out.

Leva, who I saw for the first time on the weekend looked like one of the biggest Wests NYC boys on the paddock on friday night. Plus he could step and fend and busted open the line a few times. how long has it been since you saw a tigers centre 3/4 do that? even last year in NYC when we won it wasn't happening that much with Fine (who looks heaps better on the wing in NSW cup). I'm really excited by the looks of this kid and think that hopefully in 2 years time we can release Aysh and this kid can terroise first grade.

When was the last time I saw it?

Last round from Ayshford.

Simple reality is there is more space and time in NYC.

Is Ayshford is so predictable why did he score from dummy half by absolutely fooling the defence?

Deadset some kid has played 3 U/20s games and you want to sack two experienced centres who are both very capable and showing signs of good form?

So true. Sirro dominated first game back from injury last week, doesn't mean he's ready to start in FG.

Potter has stated in his interview that he brings in players from State Cup and not NYC. I thought his comment was very interesting as it shows that he is aware of the large gap between the grades. He mentioned that young boys need to play against grown men and they do that in State Cup.

I wouldn't expect too many if any will be elevated from NYC straight to First Grade under Potter, and I for one respect that position and it should help morale in our state cup side.

AND BY THE WAY SIMONA ALSO LOOKED GOOD LAST GAME.

Simona did play well against Manly last week, then again most players look the goods when your team racks up 50\. Simona does seem to be a good, steady solid player though.

I would inject 4 or 5 guys from the 20s any day of the week into first grade with no hesitation, they are young, enthusiastic and on the way up, if potter wants to use state cup or reserve grade or what ever it is, then the club is in trouble, they are playing in reserve grade as that is there limits, these guys in the 20s, the world is there oyster and only need opportunity before they deliver, especially when you have the reighning 20s premiers, it would be silly to pick players from any where else. We dont want to be like Parramatta and produce superstars at junior levels only for other clubs to buy them once we bred them and reap the rewards from our products.

NYC is the third grade comp. NSW cup is second grade.
If these under 20's players think they are good enough they should be prepared to play in second grade before progressing to the top grade.

So you're saying guys like Tedesco, playing in reggies is limited to that?

He is at Parra now for anyone interested.

How did you drag this old thread up Milky, do you sift through the forum looking for old conversations to spark back up?

Interesting…

What happened to Josh Davis?
Remember when Lewis Brown was a BRET player a few years ago?
Would've been a good player to keep, he came good....

Davis is still at our club. I think he's been playing Ron Massey Cup alongside Nu Akeripa who was also close to first grade a few years ago.
