Like a broken record..

Rinse and repeat of the last 3 seasons.

We have Luai and Turuva and zero uplift in the forwards or pack. If anyone seriously thinks Luai on his own coming in will make us a top 8 team they’re dreaming.

We have deep deep issues in our roster & coaching staff.

This reliance on juniors isn’t going to work without quality support around them & providing clear development planning for each of them.

Our forwards aren’t making meters or holding the middle - we aren’t going forward.

Api, Klemmer, Bateman and Sezar our old heads are all playing like retirement is around the corner & costing us often.

Our Payne Haas is playing like a nsw cup prop.

Season is dead and unless a major roster shift happens so will the next 2yrs.

Gee, I don't know how you can compare Api with Klemmer and Bateman.

Iam off O/S for two months today, never been so happy to get away from our team. It is so depressing seeing our club get totally out classed and out enthused every week. Every year it’s the same old same old and it’s hard to imagine things will change to much next year.
You lucky bugger 🙂 supercoach, having a 2-month break from the 😢 attached to following our mob atm.
Have a great holiday and stay safe.
You might have some interesting stories to tell us when you get back.

He appeared to have an ambition to develop into a head coach, as an assistant. But when Sheens was sacked he was just next up to the plate. I’m not sure exactly what went on behind closed doors, but there must’ve been some delusional encouragement from our administration for him to step into the head coach’s role. It also would’ve benefitted the club financially to not need to pay out Sheens and find another head coach on top of that.
Maybe you're right, Sco77y. I reckon there's a fair bit of Benji's ego involved.

There’s no shame in conceding, and I think that’s what Benji needs to do. It isn’t his fault he was plunged into this mess. He needs to drop back to assistant coach, with an experienced coach coming in to mentor him.

Either that, or clear out most of the current coaching staff and make some very astute signings to build a more solid and experienced team around him.
We all make mistakes in our life that we later go on to wish we had never done.
And I have made as many as anyone if not more.
If the now Saint's coach i.e. Flannagan was appointed as Our Head Coach with Benji as Assistant Coach while he learned the coaching gig, Imo a GIANT size mistake would have been avoided.

Our biggest mistake in recent history (and we’ve had many to choose from) was knocking back Flanagan and going for the nostalgic combo of Sheens & Benji as our coaches two years ago. Flanagan was primed for this role and he was just what this place needed. You only have to look at what he’s done with St George in less than a season. Sure they’re still inconsistent but they are climbing the ladder and are on the verge of the top eight after being an absolute basket case last year. Even the Bulldogs with all their marquee signings haven’t climbed back up as quickly as the Dragons are now. This is all down to Flanagan imo.

Whilst our fellow strugglers from recent seasons are on the rise, our mob are still floundering around like turtles on their backs, legs in the air on the bottom of the table, yet again! The nostalgic choices and penchant to look back this club regularly does has kept us standing still, firmly entrenched at the bottom. We had the perfect opportunity to give the spoon over to Parramatta in recent weeks and all we’ve done is gravitate even closer towards it, letting the Eels off the hook. You cannot possibly go forward while ever you keep looking backwards.
Nailed it, Flip!!

Flip a wise man once told me "never go back over ploughed ground"its the worst thing you can do ....WESTS TIGERS are specialists at it...
Bring back Sheens after he was sacked and sued the joint, keep Brooks on at half when he is a running 5/8,put Benji in as HC with no NRL coaching experience and they constantly live in the past,Morris,Hieghno,Robbie on the coaching staff...
My message for Richo......CLEAN THE JOINT OUT AND START GETTING PROFESSIONAL...THE NRL IS THE TOUGHEST COMP IN THE WORLD....START ACTING LIKE IT AND GET FRESH FACES IN THE JOINT...
100% TT!!!

Have a great trip brother. Just remember - you can run but you can't hide!!

When the power that be appointed Benji, it must have been on the understanding that there will be lots of short-term how long is a piece of string pain, for long term gain.
Plus...when the gains do eventually come along, we will hopefully have built a style of play unique to Wests Tigers handed down by Benji, Morris, Farah and others from the unforgettable 2005 era.

One would have to be a very loyal Benji supporter if they think a rookie coach with no prior coaching history was what this club needed to resurrect itself . At worst if we are stuck with what we have maybe a co coaching role with Benji and Morris should be considered for rest of season . I l know Morris is there as an assistant but does he have any influence in the team strategy
I wouldn't do that if I was Morris. Any chance of being a head coach again would have gone if he were to associate his name with this

Even Benji if he's fair dinkum about coaching should follow a pathway rather than skipping to the end.

I just can't see this ending in any other way but a bitter feud in 3 years and the new guy wanting a "re build"

Rebuild, hey...well, if not the club, let's see if we can "rebuild" the fan, that is he/she:
1. Has zero expectations
2. WIll never ever have a home ground
3. Lives a a fairy tale based on one day my "Prince" will come
4. Believes the old brigade is what makes the club great
5. Supports the belief that every year cancel the previous, and so on, like Bill Murray in Ground Hog day;
6. Wonders what happened in 2005, as he/she watches a worn our DVD...
7. Is convinced (Permanent) Work in progress is actually the new WT mission statement
8. Believes our juniors will makes us great again
9. Belives pigs fly.
..........

No thanks.
Maybe someone with a little more integrity.

This club is a black hole. It sucks you in and takes no prisoners. And that’s what Luai is staring down the barrel of. The last player that came to this club that was one of form players of the competition, it chewed up and spat out (Ice). History is against him.
If he’s passing the ball to those centres and wingers we fielded on Friday he’s a shot duck.

Any lack of integrity he showed is in the past, done and dusted and he was punished for it.
He may well now show everyone he has the highest integrity.
Pity we didn't grab him when he was available, but I reckon he'd be much happier with the Red V than Us anyway.
Yep BZN, Flanno paid his dues. It doesn't look like the Tiger's "integrity" is doing them much good. Red-hot favourites for the spoon.

Meanwhile, Dragons are hovering around the 8 after starting the year as spoon favourites. No one is seeing any problems with the Dragons' ethics under Flanno either. They seem fine.

The only teams to ever get a spoon three-peat were Newcastle 2015-7 and Sydney University, who won four spoons in a row in the 1930s ... before they were dropped from the comp.

Annoyed how the Tiges screwed this up so badly, but it's done now. The club maintained its virtue and hired a rookie coach. Benji was somehow supposed to not need years of experience that all other coaches need to be first grade standard. And it's not like he was known as a super smart player like Cronk or Slater.

Will the Tigers survive four successive spoons? With a rookie coach, a four-peat looks very possible, especially now that Parra have hired a good new coach and Titans improving under Hasler. I'd love to be wrong.

The equivalent of what the Roosters are paying Crichton and JWH … maybe more …

And people wonder why the team is last ..
do you realistically think we could get Crichton or Hargreaves or any quality player to come to us at the same price that they would go to the top tear clubs? IMO no and because of this our only way up off the bottom of the ladder is to hope we find a group of jnrs who can turn this club around.

No coach turns this around without better players right through the grades. We were/ are fighting for the wooden spoon against Parramatta and you would be hard pressed to find any coach who if they had the choice between the two rosters would take us over Parramatta.
This roster/ club sets all coaches up to fail hence why the targets were thanks but no thanks.
While I believe we don't have the best players I think the drop in mentality spirit enthusiasm is on the coaches. This is why most teams get the best out of thier squad except us.

We just let it all fall to shit during the season.

Spot on , i was all for Flanno but we had to many people saying he is the wrong fit , just look at the Drags , moving up the ladder nicely , and if they get to the GF. Flanno would be coach of the year , they will make the 8 is my prediction , not bad for his first year , where are we. Ohh that’s right last same as always , I’m also thinking even Richo may have lost his touch as I see absolutely no change , The owners cleaned the joint out not Richo he come later , so my over all look at his performance so far is lip service only and Benji last year and this year overall. Worst coach in the comp

I'm too tired and too old and stress about the tigers too much to stay any more. Not because I don't care but because I care about my health more. Too many years of the same lines and same results. It feels like a conspiracy to make the tigers unsupportable.
Very few players want be there and players want overs to go there. Galvin will develop and leave the fainus will leave steph the myth will leave and become steph the legend. There is something wrong with the club. A gypsy curse sits heavy on it

There is nothing wrong with ex players being associated in roles with their ex club - all clubs have them. Benji was thrust into a position he should never have taken on, and blindly or stupidly thought he could handle it /make a difference. I admire him for that - it is no doubt the toughest gig in the league. He may very well still be successful at some point but the patience of supporters even when we recognize all the flaws has run out.
At some point though they have to stick to a plan or no manager is going to buy what they are selling and neither will the players - plenty don't already.
Richardsons experience is key - and not sure if he can afford to pull the trigger and at the same time how bad does it have to get before he has no option.
