Lima, Tandy, teo

Go ahead and count the number of finals-playing footballers just season 2009 and see how many have only ever played for one club. It is meaningless.

I think you took it the wrong way.

What I'm trying to say is some of the guys we've let go have been wrong decisions. I wouldve kept Saffy over Payne. Laffranchi over Galea, Prince over Morris, Lima over Gibbs … We frequently let good players go and replace them with sub standard players.

Its not uncommon for fringe or average Wests Tigers players to leave the Tim Sheens coaching regime and thrive and develope well somewhere else.

like what 5 or so…...

I'll name them for you....Jeff Lima, Ryan Tandy, Lewis Brown, Ben Roberts, Issac De Gois

Oh I forgot 1 ...Bronson Harrison

Jarrad Saffy, Ben Roberts (did he play FG?), Anthony Laffranchi, Scott Prince, Ryan Tandy, Jeff Lima, Ben Teo, Shannon McDonnell, Isaac De Gois

All former Tigers players who this year played in the finals.

The reply was to Balmain Bug's comment that many fringe or average Wests Tigers First graders go on to develop and thrive elsewhere …..which is simply not true.....

Lafranchi and Prince weren't reserve graders plus they left of there own accord but blame Sheens why not.......

McDonnell your joking right....has he improved away from Sheens to hold a regular first grade spot.....

Roberts fringe first grader as per Bug's critieria.....when he played for Wests..... but he had Benji ahead of him....who do you prefer......

Ben T'eo.......wow.....did he actually play last night.....didn't sight him.....besides would you have him in first grade ahead of Ellis, Heighno, Payten, Schirnack Snr and Jnr, Dwyer, Mataka, Akeripa, Gower, or Moors.....

Saffy....interesting..... did his job for Bennett but then again solid but not outstanding.....played finals yes but wouldn't say he has developed once again see Te'o

De Gois is someone I'd have back in a heartbeat but he is to good to play second fiddle to Farah......

Instead of being happy for these Ex players who are taking their opportunities elswhere....Bug likes to look at the negative and lay the boot into Sheens.....

These players, look at moving away from the WT as being a good move because they now play Semi Finals football. Something they would not have done under Sheens. Players WT seek to recruit, see the same thing. All players want to play semi finals football and they all know that the Fonz has achieved this once in the last 12 years. Thats why we CANNOT recruit a quality established 1st grade player from another team.

The Fonz is ruining the career of some brilliantly talented players in the WT side with his disgraceful coaching.

If that's the case why didn't Farah go to the Gold Coast, Benji to Wherever, Heighno to the Dragons. Eliis never come…..are they that dumb they can't see Sheens disgraceful coaching is ruining there careers....wouldn't they be in a better postion to leave and get away to thrive elsewhere...

Why is it the best 5 players from the schoolboy arrive alive Cup are coming to join the Wests Tigers Under 20's next year....

Young guys like Fafita had his choice of 5 clubs he chose Wests Tigers because of Sheens....

Bug ....I'm sure you know 11 players from the Wests Tigers Cubs program Sheens started have played first grade and are contracted to the Wests Tigers

Sheens builds from within the club is in an extremely healthy state.....

Be paitent mate...your established first grader may just be around the corner......

Well said geo i couldnt agree more.

If anyone from this forum picked there Best Westigers team it would contain 95 % of the players that Sheens has created and made much better players.

We are in a much better state now then what we have ever been and that includes Balmain or Wests when they stood alone.

Having A TEAM IN U20S and reserves is a tremendous effort and something the club should be proud of.

Every POST IS THE SAME THING BY BB.

Bar Prince and maybe Laffranchi, all those players left because they had "better" players ahead of them … so in essence we kept the duds. Whether they wanted to leave or we let them go, they saw better opportunities elsewhere and are playing September footy.

In regards to Saffy, im pretty surprised he got dropped because he was playing very solidly at the Dragons, but I think he was covering til Jeremy Smith came back, Bennett absolutely loves Smith. Like Harrison, Sheens tried to use him as a prop too, so I'd say yes, he has improved as a player, being able to play in the back row.

In regards to Teo, I hate him as much as the next person on here. Didnt rate him at the Tigers and still dont at the Broncos.

De Gois and Roberts, well, necessary losses but I think we've covered those two the best out of all our other losses.

the salary cap squeezes these fringe players out of clubs, there was a article on parra the other week. Main reason why i believe it needs a over hual. if u can bring a kid through ur system, such as sg ball/flegg and now under 20s he should be exempt from the cap. But clubs like the roosters will have a major whinge about this.

Wonder if the Para felt the same way about Hodgson and Richards…..the Panthers about Whatz and Elf....Broncos about Prince.....Roosters about Payten...

It's the same for all clubs.....

Sometimes the Club makes mistakes in letting players go...and holds onto one's the wish they had let go ......it happens......

Good Luck to Lima and Tandy....hope they tear Parra a new one......

Thats true Geo - guess its the same in all walks of life - there are a lot of contributing factors that bring out the best in people - PS in my case its booze - it also brings out the worst in me - pot luck i guess

Congradulations Ryan Tandy and now duel Premiershp winner Jeff LIma…..... :sunglasses:

I say welcome to the Wests side of the Merger, Wests has always been a nursery for other football clubs.

As for keeping players, Laffranchi and Prince were never an option to keep, they both wanted to go back up North. And if I recall correctly, Lima's time at the club, he had discipline problems - Gibbs like but worse.
