Only got two.
He needs to cop it on the chinChin challenging the head high on Makasini to try to get it downgraded
He’s a little unlucky. I think he wanted to blindside a young bloke that just made his stars look silly and it went wrong. Would he get 2 weeks of a gf was coming up? I’m not so sure.Watched it today with out the emotion ,Think its a legit tackle , just
Maka didn't look fazed or come off, but i thought a send of for head contact was an instant send of for bothHe’s a little unlucky. I think he wanted to blindside a young bloke that just made his stars look silly and it went wrong. Would he get 2 weeks of a gf was coming up? I’m not so sure.
Did maka even go off for a hia?
Yep new week, new interpretation. I don’t think Olam even hit the other blokes head for a send off.Maka didn't look fazed or come off, but i thought a send of for head contact was an instant send of for both
I gave up on trying to understand or follow their interpretations of rules a decade ago
His arms were wrapped around the player,Maka was on the incline
not when he was in a WTs jersey he didn't , lolYep new week, new interpretation. I don’t think Olam even hit the other blokes head for a send off.
Tallyn Da Silva was over hyped. Good for a burrow-over try, bad service once fatigued, not strong enough in contact, bad decision making. I mean that last one look at what happened when he got to Parra. Hope was better when he got a chance last year.We should temper our enthusiasm a smidge on Jock. Yes he is playing well in these trials and yes the structures look more lethal with him directing them.
These are trials though and I’d remind everyone that one of our best performers in the trials last year was Hope, and many said he deserved to take Tallyns spot. When the real footy started though Tallyn quickly established himself as the preferred 2nd string hooker.
AD is proven during premiership rounds and was one of the few who stood up last year and had a go for us. He was one of our best all year.
We’ll get a better view as the year progresses and my want is the Benji rewards consistency and form fairly.
I think 2 is fair, I'm happy for that to be a standard.Only got two.

My worry with AD is he is very much a run first player & that was evident on Friday night. Did Turuva or Starford even see the ball? KPP will be nonexistent if that's how AD is gonna play.Madden v Doueihi:
Totally understand the support for Madden, but you don't make decisions off of trial form. Madden was against reserve graders in both appearances and it is hard to judge his performance. No doubt his kicking and game management looks the best at the club, but the speed is more intense and there's much less space in 1st grade. It's really hard for a player that lacks speed and elusiveness to open space for players outside him, hence Madden usually looks bog average and slow when in the top grade.
Doueihi can frustrate play by holding the ball too much and cramping players but he's a big and threatening runner, has an excellent long kicking game and bomb and proved his ability by winning the halfback spot when seemingly no one wanted him there at the club.
Madden is also a weaker defender.
Madden's form is nonetheless really promising. If only as a reserve grade half, he should provide leadership and organisation to the side. He'll get a chance at one stage this season, but you mess everything up by making that switch now off of good form in the trials. Doueihi deserves the chance to wear the 7.
It was only one trial, but I get your point he does have a habit of running too far at times and crowding the outside men.My worry with AD is he is very much a run first player & that was evident on Friday night. I did a deep dive on this overnight (https://weststigersforum.com/threads/wests-tigers-deep-dive-of-the-week.36357/post-2232698)- putting my AD bias aside. After doing the analysis I came to the conclusion that this isn't really a question of AD or Madden and who is a better number 7.My worry with AD is he is very much a run first player & that was evident on Friday night. The one thing I did take away from the game was that AD was clear that we were playing a simplified game plan. I really think we missed a trick not playing both AD and Madden with Luai agaisnt the same oppositon to understand who is better for the team.It was only one trial, but I get your point he does have a habit of running too far at times and crowding the outside men.
Must admit I was hoping to see him set in motion one of those deep attacking plays with shape, ala Jock Madden, early days but we can only hope he's added that string to his bow.

Fans will have one of two positions:
The real issue that needs to be considered is what is the root cause of our inconsistency — lack of power, or lack of control? If you answer that honestly the solution presents itself and until the club answers that honestly, they are picking names; not building a system.
- If you think the team’s biggest issue has been a lack of physicality and unpredictability, then AD at halfback makes sense.
- If you think the bigger issue has been game control, territorial discipline, and structural clarity — particularly when Luai is forced into over-management — then Jock Madden is the logical selection.
The one thing I did take away from the game was that AD was clear that we were playing a simplified game plan. I really think we missed a trick not playing both AD and Madden with Luai agaisnt the same oppositon to understand who is better for the team.
While I believe that Jock's skill set is what we have been missing for an eternity, that skill set has been demonstrated against reggie level opponents. So we can't be sure that he can reproduce this at NRL level.
What stands out to me, and partially why am anti AD, is that what we need is an orchestrator at half to support a play maker at 5/8th. AD sees himself, and plays, as a playmaker - this is a role overlap with Luai and can stifle the edge he plays on.
I am torn between the pick and stick of AD so we can develop the combinations and fixing the glaring problem we have - game management. Jock isn't going to win us a competition - but does he have to - he needs to get us to the right points on the park and create opportunities for the more skillful players outside him. Madden and AD on the right edge would be workable - but I would expect Taruva to catch a cold mid winter. As soon as I realised Jock is just 25, and seeing his control in the trials, im convinced he can do what Sexton did at the dogs.
AD can play right centre or off the bench. I dont want him at 13 for the same reasons I dont want him at 7, he cant play straight. If AD was to play in the forwards, I see him more as an edge backrower rather than a 13.
Yeah Jolls, not quite the tuba in the string section, more like a cello in the middle of the violins. The one thing I did take away from the game was that AD was clear that we were playing a simplified game plan.
