Live Game Discussion, VS Roosters - Round 23 *Spoilers*

Last night is a lesson in salary cap "management". Compara us to the Roosters and how both have used the cap and there is light years between us.
Secondly it's also an endightment on the salary cap and proof it doesn't work. If the guys in HQ wer'nt crapping themselves after last night's debacle the game is dead. They should be panicking and plotting a way to implement a draft.
If players aren't happy then they can apply their trade in England or any other country that has rugby league in it.
If something is not done now about the disparity between the talent hoarding from the clubs at the top the game will eventually be committing suicide.
The Roosters are supposedly under cap pressure, yet are able to resign Crighton, it's a rort.
I think many of us have seen this for years, including supporters of other teams. A Roosters supporter in 2018 used to laugh at how they managed their sombrero.

Instead of sulking about them and what they do, maybe we should embrace their techniques???
The inconvenient truth is that the bottom teams are where they are because they deserve to be there. Their incompetence has guaranteed their continual failures.
We have the juniors from two clubs and a large area of Western Sydney.
Warriors have a country to draw from
Newcastle has a RL mad city feeding them
Titans are given every chance to be successful yet have failed during several iterations.

I met a couple of blokes this morning who are Rabbits supporters. When I mentioned I followed Wests they both said how sorry they felt for me. This has been the reaction I usually get from people probably for the last three years. Before that people would laugh and say - should be good for ninth place. I think we probably need the spoon. It should serve as a slap in the face to the club.

It’s not really rocket science to improve the squad and build a future.

It’s about getting fresh blood in at senior levels to captain the ship properly.

People who understand recruitment, people who know which players have a go and those that have ability.

People who understand coaching.

But the current junta thinks they know best, they appoint mates and make other reckless or negligent decisions and this is the foreseeable result.

Lee made a massive point last year about everyone being accountable, well if he wants to be honourable, he and the rest of the board should all resign or suspend themselves because they are wholly responsible for our woes.

He said he “ would step down when I feel I am not making a contribution”

Well earth to Lee, you are making a contribution but based on results, it’s not your finest hour. We are a rabble. We can’t even get the Bodgy plague right in the COE.

COEs don’t win games, people do.

But we are all getting comfy of the fact that having a third tier side is acceptable and dandy so long as the junta and matey mates is deep in prawns and other benefits.

To think our Board Members get paid a small fortune for this by us, it’s little more highway robbery.

They don’t have a clue.

And unless and until we see genuine and meaningful change, under this “ leadership” we can probably write off the next decade. That’s the future under this mob.

If any of board remain next year except maybe burgess, we should all be wearing black arm bands to games in protest.

Hopefully this is the last stand of the shills. Brothers and sisters get off your knees. Give it to the club management at every turn.

Well said.

It is like real life where 5% of the mega wealthy control 95% of the world.

In NRL Easts and Storm are the 5% and the rest make up the numbers.

Draft is the only way to go or NRL will slowly die allowing AFL, Union or Soccer to pick up the East Coast of Australia.

NRL Head office would be very much shitting themselves after this week's results and still two more week's of the regular comp to go. Could get even more uglier for teams like WT.

Faiders must be enjoying their good luck as they have the under performing Knight, Manly and WT which should be easy wins and a chance to scrap in to top 8 if Broncos keep on losing.
It's going to be a very long offseason.

After that thrashing I bet we will hear more this week about Papali'i wanting to backflip and you really can't blame him.

Hardly any of the players showed much pride in the jersey last night.

They made Nat Butcher look like past great backrower like Beaver Menzies, Bradley Clyde
I agree with Corey Parker about the need for Sheens to tell EVERY player they are on notice. Garner and Kelma and anyone else leaving should finish the last two weeks in Reserve grade. If I was Sheens I would say start proving you want to be here for more than just a paypacket. If money is your motivation then leave now, because that attitude just stinks and won't be tolerated.

Yep the overwhelming public opinion of our club and its supporters is pity.
Congratulations to everyone involved…especially those incompetent fools from W.A.

Really interested to see the team list on Tuesday, so many of this team should be dropped, I know we are lacking players but I expect to see a few changes at least but I’m doubting there will be !!!

Suppose we can take a bit of solace in the fact that the Broncos had 60 put on them with a better squad than us, fewer injuries and no players “ loaned “ to other clubs , loaning players is a joke.

Not watched any shred of a league show this morning, would have been a bloodbath and rightly so. I dont know why out of all the pathetic performances of last night obviously Doueihi stood out to most. But the pack was an absolute disgrace Musgrove got ran through like he wasnt there for the first try that started the rot. Red pen needs to go through his name as well, i dont like it but we should be looking at Lodge and possibly Thompson our pack is rubbish.

Had high hopes for Musgrove but he has been a massive lazy dud… and still has years to go.
We must try and get him off the books any way possible.
Super League would be perfect for him.

Hi everyone, it's ol Cobarcats coming to you from a den of doom and gloom.
My place has tissues scattered all over the floor, sheets of popped bubble wrap in the bin and a littering of empty beer stubbies near the recliner.
I'm over our record breaking loss to the chooks and ready for punishment.
Did we lose any members to the nut house overnight?

Of course, the 9 commentary, with their blatant adulation / veneration / worship like for all things Eastern Suburbs didn't help...until I turned the sound down.
They must be on the payroll??

Scary thing is there isn't enough talent to go around and the muppets bring in another team to dilute the talent pool further, they only care about the dollars and setting up for more televised games in the future, even if the product is rubbish.

If we can't get the outside sponsorship on board to compete with our own third party agreements to top up our contract offers its impossible to compete. The big end of towns sponsorship money is with 4 - 5 teams in the comp. The third party system is I'm place so the nrl never have to really police the cap properly, it's a get out so they can turn a blind eye to obvious rorting.
Clubs are not supposed to get involved in 3rd party agreements, it was just a coincidence that two magically fell into the Roosters laps exactly when they needed them to sign Tedesco and Cronk.
It's not sulking it's fact. If it was enforced properly we would be heaps more competitive and wouldn't get pumped by 66 points because we would have more talent in our squad.

Absolutely atrocious...

Can't even be bothered discussing it. The most gutless performance I have ever seen. Even young players like ToA actively avoided the collision multiple times...no other club would accept that.

We extend them.

Whoever decided to extend ToA, AJ and Naden within days must be off their head. Scary thing is it was prob Sheens.
