**live game feed** vs Roosters

@TIGER This is the difference between the winners and the losers it is called accountability! These performances do reflect the attitude of a few of the players and this is the coaches doing by not making players that do not perform on a weekly basis accountable.

@Snake The difference was Master and Mbye vs Teddy and Mitchell - the other 15 played really well imo just those 2 were that bad and thier opposite numbers especially Mitchell that good

The big thing tonight was post contact metres. They were making 5 metres in the tackle post contact consistently. We hardly made a series of tackles where we hit and stopped their momentum. Because of this they were finishing sets between our 40 and 30 metre lines. Then they were able to put up attacking bombs all night which exposed our back three badly. Add to that the fact our attack is pitifully unable to dent a line, make a break, create an overlap, out run a defender etc etc. Top it off with a few terrible mistakes and you end up with a thrashing.

What poor effort!!

I know we still have nowhere near the (right) team to beat the top ones however the boys need some sort of attitude adjustment. A corpse has more energy than some of them.

Not a criticism of Aloiai but I think he needs to be moved back to the bench. He was sensational coming off the bench and brought some much needed impact for us.
I actually feel for Corey Thompson. As one of our most consistent players, IMO he's being heavily under-utilised and would be best used at fullback or switched to Marsters side.
IDK what's up with Mbye, thought he was fantastic last week yet woeful tonight(Pressure from captaincy?).
Welcome back Liddle, thought he did good. Also thought Mikaele was very good.

On tonight's team selection, think Packer could have been brought in. Possibly Momorovski. Idk with this team anymore.
The only way to overcome any deficiencies is with a bit of (competitive) edge and our team is far from it. Poor Madge.
Can see a repeat of last year, too much focus on defence - which is starting to look hard to sustain in a game, let alone over the year.

Who are you replacing them with? There’s no one in the top 30 who didn’t play tonight would have made any difference to the result.

@GNR4LIFE

you're right, but Madge needs to make a point. rewarding terrible performances with a spot in the team week in week out does the team and that player no good whatsoever.

I rather watch our team full of rookies lose with some passion and effort, then watch the current lot of first graders lose the way they're playing now....

This is spot on. Mitchell showed up Marsters as Matterson was at 5/8 and it’s a bad mismatch. Mbye is weak defensively under the high ball, in the line and also positionally. They are both bad defensive liabilities.

Bloody exactly, there’s very few ‘first graders’ in our team that you’d feed let alone clothe and it costs much less to make debut jersey’s for young fellas stepping up than it does to continue running a Gatorade club for your bwaith’s and Packer’s of the NRL. This isn’t a free sample, step up to the plate or step out of line and let someone, anybody, ANYWHERE passionate about footy don our great (now white?) jersey to show the old timers what a win against all odds feels like & no I did not bet tonight but that performance after attempting to ply over all of us fans with the ole’ “this is the real metal we’re made off when going gets tough” after Titans game was just crap, as usual.

Yet fans out here are legitimately crying out over who our CEO is and whether or not some overrated crock signs on to learn goalkicking better over the next few seasons! ! I’ve had enough, the players know how to play, Madge is quality and quite frankly they didn’t have the balls to rip off a bandaid out there tonight... grown men no less and I’ve played with Liddle watch him outshine even brooks in a matter of months, that’s how much it means to him... I’m not sure of who must go but rotations? Yes, definitely. McQueen might be solid but he’s past it, that’s not withstanding u absolutely cannot in the modern game have two middle forwards like E.T and huth both playing ineffective minutes. Our only impact tonight was Mikaele and unfortunately had our balance been better there I feel those key moments Our Coach talked about in presser would’ve been better handled - we were up to our knees in that game at least and yet we faltered before any really good, structured OR unstructured hard running attack came at us. Again we had a small sniff despite what %95 of people were saying and our professionals found a way to give up on both occasions we fell back into the match (not going into salary cap differences or anything useless at this current venture like that). Maguire knows what to do and even if it means getting rid of a boys club all together he’ll get it done, on that note Fonua or Jennings must go because even nof hasn’t had that kinda score on him against the Chooks.

Time for accountability and that is all

Madge said he isn't sure if Benji will be fit for the Panthers game.

@boonboon you aren’t serious right? Surely you can’t think the other 15 played well. The whole right side defensively was a train wreck. The fact they kept coming up with an overlap shows the right side didn’t do its job. Fonua was guilty of jumping in when everyone else was sliding out. Matterson missed Tupou when he stepped inside for his try. Marsters was pushed off too easily one on one with Latrell but still held him for a few seconds so where was the help in D? Garner made a weak attempt. Marsters has another miss or 2 on Latrell. They were all culpable. And Mbye’s weak attempts just topped it off.

The forwards lacked penetration, we rarely played inside their half and the metres gained were completely lop sided 2013m v 1491m despite both teams completing 29 sets with only one tiger forward cracking 100m, Twal for 105m.

Brooks kicking game was hugely erratic, some 50m others lucky to make 15m handing over field position in bad areas.

Whenever Brooks and Mbye combine on the left edge the are always running towards the sideline crowding the outside backs they never straighten like keary and Cronk. Robbie threw an intercept for a try.

There was hardly a good tigers player out there.

Fonua tries hard but he was run down by Mitchell (forgivable I guess) and a second rower!?! That is not forgivable.

MBye either needs to drop captaincy or try a different position, because he frankly is terrible as fullback.

We have no speed in the backs, no strike anywhere, no punch, almost no aggression... (I've seen Matulino and Thompson smash two guys each hard in the last month - only 2, but that's the best we got).

I'm sick of having a team that sucks.

IMO Roosters have assembled a (fake) team which is as good as any other in history of league. The talent in league has thinned considerably over the last few years, but not for Roosters.
Excluding Smith, they have the three best players in the game in Cronk, Teddy and Mitchell.
They also have the Australian captain in Cordner, they have Keary, Manu, Radley, the list goes on.
There are choc full of rep players and we have none.
If you expected anything out of a team of also rans vs superstars you had rocks in your head.
I’m surprised we weren’t smashed by more.

But it’s not just us; the rest of the comp (excluding Souths and Storm) is relatively even, and Roosters will have their way with them all.
It’s a lay down misere.

Highlights of the game, Matulino holding JWH in the scrum so Matterson could step back and run through the hole where JWH should have been to score a try, and Matulino hitting the Roosters centre Manu hard after he passed it, knocked him over (but of course suspiciously not warranting a HIA though he was 'injured' and they stopped the game for him to pick himself up).

@TigerTiger

thats where im at too....I am just so sick of watching crappy footy and losing. so demoralising.

even the wins are slightly draining! i just want us to be a team that has a winning confidence and swagger about them!

Sad but true under the current regime the corrupt will flourish while the majority wither and just become targets for the favoured few.The sport i love is probably at it lowest ebb because of inept leadership

I think the most squad has reached its peak, to be honest. Take Marsters, for example, he has peaked and will get slower and slower. And he definitely doesn't have the heart and courage to move into the forwards so I have no idea where his future lies apart from 2nd grade. As someone said on a few years back when Marsters was playing U20s he was good when we were in opposition red zone but nowhere to be seen apart from that. We need a good clean out and buy some depth for the lower grades.

Fair call but I feel we were dominated in all facets. Teddy and Mitchell destroyed us yes, but also:

- Keary and to a lesser extent Cronk, completely outplayed our halves.

- There forwards went over the advantage line consistently, our forwards like Garner, Huth, ET and McQueen were completely uncited with the ball and had no impact. Compare that to their pack who pumelled over us and got them going forward. Mikaele, Matulino and Matterson got a bit of go forward - thats it.

- There line speed was 2x quicker.

- Even their wingers like Tupou consistently ran over the advantage line to set them up.

- They had a couple of guys who offered little, like Aubusson, Radley and Manu (quiet night), but the difference is they had 3 guys who offered little, but yet made no mistakes, while we had about 10 who did that.

Another day in the life.
So good to be a Wests Tigers supporter - nothing ever changes.

Average one day, poor the next.
