It really is a good example of why footballers should not be allowed to comment publicly without having their comments internally officially verified first.

He has a good point though. There was no urgency in our defence first half, each player appeared to be waiting for the ball carrier to pass. Madge (or someone) must have given them a rev at the break, because they warmed to the idea in the second half.
It’s so frustrating to watch this every week.
And trust me, sacking the coach and the halfback will not fix it!

no resilience defensively, at all. we've had problems with our edges since the dawn of time, but at this point it is quite simply ridiculous. every single time a football team is in our 20 it's a matter of when, not if. Nofoaluma, Leilua, Roberts, M'Bye and Doueihi are all horrendous.

For God's sake Brooks, teach these clowns how to tackle.

Brooks was just as abysmal in the first half.
He needs to learn how to be a halfback before tutoring defence.

Sometimes hate, overules common sense ,and the ability to see clearly.

What will fix it?
The coach is supposed to fix things that aren’t working on the field. That’s his job.

People say don’t sack the coach. So we keep getting 30+ points put on us every week until the coach’s contract runs out THEN we appoint a new coach.

Trust me, something has to change.

The thing that annoys me is, why did it take a half time spray from the coach to figure this out?

Surely the players are big enough to know what’s going on the field and could have adjusted their defense.

He isnt wrong though. Being left exposed against 2 or 3 players isnt the fault of rhe winger. The issues are in the middle not on the edge. Mbye, Leilua and the prop and lock in the middle. They didnt do their job in the middle and by then it was all over didnt matter what the outside guys do. People who dont understand footy think because they score on the wing its the wingers fault. Thats not how defence works - you win in the middle. Fault for those trues lies with the inside men. Nofa was against 2-3 players what was he expected to do tackle all 3 at once

It's also career limiting. What elite sports person does that? How does that improve his status or reputation in the game, not just with WT but with other clubs or rep teams?

Exactly. You should never be that butthurt by fan criticism on social media that you have to go out of your way to publicly explain and post about your tactical decision making.

Almost every pro sports person worldwide with a social platform has to deal with this and 99% just shut their mouth and cop it (or at least address it in a scheduled media scrum setting).

Shows a lack of maturity and a level of insecurity imo.
