Next year they’re adding Vaughan, JAC, TPJ and Burton. We’re adding 2 ESL players.

Somehow, I don't see those players working out so well for the dogs. Rest of their team is garbage & they're also losing Meaney to da storms.
Much the same from us next yr as well. Gonna be a loooooong one...

We were after all 4 of those players so we must have thought highly of them.

I’d settle for understanding why he doesn’t get on in the second half. In the current game a starting forward that is only on the field for 25 or so mins has little to no value.

They will go nowhere without a decent spine. They will improve from 2 wins this year but not by much. If we build cohesion in the young players we have then I would put my money on us. However whatever we are doing is not working.

Not sure our spine is too hot either to be honest. They’ll finish ahead of us next year. They’ll be somewhere from 6th to 10th.

We’re spoon favourites as it stands now.

I would commend a Bulldogs miracle if they can go from today to 6th by the end of 2022.

For all the faults the Tigers had today, we barely got out of 3rd gear and were still hardly troubled by the Bulldogs. Unless they plan to add Tommy Turbo and Latrell and Payne Hass to their roster they have an absolute million miles still to go to be finals contenders. Burton is the only player that Dogs have added which addresses their core issues, IMO. Vaughan, TPJ, Dufty, Naden all unwanted releases from their current clubs, I think it's a mistake to think they all just turn it around under Barrett and the Bulldogs.

Tigers were never linked with Burton? We weren't after Vaughan either, the player himself said Madge rang him up to see where he was up to.

Barrett's all-time win rate, 4 seasons, is 33.3%. Madge, as bad as his Tigers run has been, has 38.1% win rate 2019-2021. He has a 50.9% win rate total in the NRL and 75.7% win rate in England.

Now there's a point of opinion and pure speculation about what results the two coaches might get if all things were equal, but on facts alone Barrett isn't within cooee of anything Madge has achieved.

I'm far from convinced Barrett will get the best out of the new Dogs in 2022. He may well be one of those assistant coaches (at Penrith) who just aren't up to the elite level of NRL coaching.

Barret is the Bulldogs Jason Taylor, a good assistant but can't lead
