Live game thread vs the Cowboys

As reported in ABC news tonight;

"Kepaoa appeared to be running towards the ball, but bunker official Ashley Klein said the Tigers centre ran sideways into the path of Kyle Feldt.

Former Penrith halfback Greg Alexander in Fox Sports commentary labelled the decision was "an absolute shocker", adding Klein had made some "strange" decisions throughout the game.

"I want to hear them talk their way out of this one," he said.
Holmes slotted the ensuing penalty goal well after the clock hit zero.

While the ruling itself was questionable all on its own, commentators wondered how the Cowboys were allowed to challenge the on-field ruling despite there being no stoppage in play, aside from the final siren."

I can’t believe Tamou and Gardiner took it up the arse like nothing had happened..
This club is fkd

Bro I didn't watch the post match
conferences, didn't have it in me.

The fact they have staff on pay
with laptops and didn't call out
This fu**ery is a bit upsetting.

Learn how things work mate. The facts are the facts. The NRL said 1 second then it was 1 second. FoxSports, or Channel 9 are not the official timekeepers and just have some random pressing stop on the broadcast. Even natural reaction time can explain the missed second on the clock, it happens multiple times a week, people just usually don't notice it as it isn't at such a pivotal moment. Usually they fix it during the kick off and delay the clock restart, or quickly tweak it between the conversion and the kickoff.
They fixed it alright, and I don't mean just the clock.

Gardiner could have gone harder, but had a genuinely positive take on the performance that was refreshing. Bloke couldn't stop smiling, and spoke in a way that a 15-20 year old could understand, unlike Kimmorley who I don't think can even understand himself.
He just showed how little he personally had riding on the game IMO. Not that he wasn’t invested or anything , but win, lose or draw it was all gravy for him.
If the board had decided that if we didn’t win this week he would lose his job … then there’s no way he would have had that reaction .Not a criticism , he’s right , Daine Laurie… where have you been this year mate , the forwards had a red hot go . But if his career or job was in the line of fire , e would have torn shreds .

No one has pointed to the fact the Cows shouldn’t have even have had their challenge. The challenge they used earlier in the half wasn’t inconclusive at all. Therefore they should have lost it
Exactly this. Klein stopped mid-sentence after hearing the crowd's reaction to his initial decision and went for the easy "inconclusive evidence" call allowing for their challenge to be retained.

We scored with 90 seconds to go, whistle was blown giving the try 3 seconds later (so with 87 seconds to go), clock stopped as it was within the last 5.

Add the 80 seconds (which I had to look up to confirm, but was mentioned in a rules update in a FoxSports article from this year) allowed to take the kick with the clock running and it would be roughly stopped with 5 seconds left on the clock (believe it would have been 6 on the official clock).

So unfortunately it was accurate as to the rules.
the siren rang on the ground? does that siren not align with the clock?

He's a caretaker for the caretaker, hardly the thing that is wrong tonight mate. If the team was an orange, Noddy and Sheens have squeezed out a drop and called it empty. He comes along, fills up a 2L bottle in a fraction of the time. So yes, it is all gravy, partly because he did a good job and can be proud of showing up a few bigger names. Tamou was gonna dry hump him.

He’d have been speaking on behalf of those above him. If the Godfather wanted him to give the officials a spray, word would have come down from The Don.
