Live game thread vs the Cowboys

LOL, what ?

Use it for media promos next year?
Push us to the finals ?

I think Klein and Elon (on field ref) have just made a massive mistake and hopefully proves costly, to not just US - but to them.
It’s possible that the NRL could reverse this ridiculous decision, they’ve already shown a liking for making game changing decisions after full time.

Please make it make sense. I'm still stunned by that decision and it will take a while not to feel disheartened.
It’s really hard to take.. so frustrating.. like we had won … the happy feeling had taken over only to have it ripped from you due to blatant cheating .. it’s disgusting and fans and supporters and even players should not be treated this way! Pathetic Klein again

I was at the game yesterday in Townsville, at the end of the game the Cows fans were for the most part embarrassed by the decision and to win that way ( a few have mentioned the 7 tackle blunder etc) but mostly they were embarrassed, normally after the tigers lose up here i leave the ground to the obvious jeers and jabs from the home crowd, all good fun that's footy, but yesterday i was approached buy at least a dozen Cows fans after the game with their heads hung and calling out what a disgraceful decision that was and they would be seething if that had happened to them. one of two things is going happen, Annersly will find a wording to justify it or we will get our apology and the officials involved will be stood down, for a week, maybe, and then as has been mentioned it will all be swept up and business will continue. Unfortunately the NRL will not have the balls open up the Pandoras box that it will become to overturn it so no point banging on about it.

thought id also bring up the horrible call of our kickoff out on the full when we clearly jump from the field of play and knock it back in before hitting the ground and got penalized... unless i missed something obvious

Ignoring all the controversy, did anyone else still not feel the game was in the bag after we scored?

Scars from the past, and though it seemed impossible, I genuinely still saw it coming.

I said they can still get a penalty and win. That is what happened. I'm still amazed at what happened though. It was farcical.

I've been going a bit nuts since the rort. Wrote a complaint to the NRL to ask them to overturn and been flagging their Facebook posts for misinformation.

Get on the keyboards guys and hit their inboxes. They need to correct this one. Not just 1 decision, but 4!!

- Stopped the kick clock when 90 secs allowed
- Added 1 sec to the clock when it had hit 0.
- Allowed a challenge when no stoppage which was not picked up by any referee.
- Made the worst decision for an escort ever. Total milk.
I also think the player kicking off was in front of the halfway line when he struck the ball. Not 100%, but I think that’s not allowed.

Our two centres, Kepaoa and Toa are coming along nicely. Both are strong and quick. Kepaoa nearly always beats the first up tackle and remember he will only get better coming back from his ACL. Hopefully we will have them signed up long term because they both look very good.

2. The NRL are claiming a whistle was blown but that’s not full time. That’s not how the game works. The ref hears the siren and blows a whistle for the end of the game. There is nothing else they need to do. They are seriously making up rules now.
I don't believe this is actually true.

Any time a referee calls full-time in a match, you will note there are actually two tones blown. First is a single "pip", and I believe this indicates end of that play. Second tone is "pip-pip-pip-peeeeew", which is the call of FT.

They are almost always called together because the "end of play" call is normally not an infraction. Where there is an infraction, I think you'll find the ref still does a single pip, calls the infraction, they have 1 final play, then there is another "final end of play" before FT is called.

The FT whistle is kind of the symbolic call after the referee has designated that all plays have concluded, via that first "pip".

It’s a bizarre suggestion that you can challenge a non-ruling at halftime or full time but not the same thing 5 seconds before that. If there were 20 seconds left we play the ball and there’s no challenge. It’s a ridiculous hair splitting attempt by the NRL.
There is always that commentary - that there should not be special rules for late-game compared to early game, e.g. refs putting their whistles away during golden point.

I'm pretty sure that's why Phil Gould is against golden point, because he believes it introduces a period where refs change the way they police the match, like they do in State Of Origin.

Before ANY bunker call is made , the person should ask themselves , what will the general public think with the decision im about to make . Keeping it neutral through the whole process.
This simple 10 seconds pause and reminder to them via their screens in front of them, before hitting any button , will help them deliver more correct calls than not.
The simple rule of engaging your brain before running your mouth.
