**Live game thread* WT vs Eels

That sin binning sure was rubbish though. Not high or dangerous, slightly late but not by much. A penalty and nothing more. Disgraceful decision.

But all in all we got our fair share of the calls this week so we can't blame the officials for the loss. We were terrible, competed for maybe 30 mins in total, and even then our discipline was barely reserve grade level. You simply can't give up that many penalties and surrender field possession like that.

Liddles mistake is also unforgivable and not the first time. His career with us is over. We have Simpkin for the future, let Liddle finish his year in NSW cup with Brooks.

Tupou, Pole, Musgrave and Joffa for the most part all played well. The rest were crap. But we still had a chance to win, but self imploded as is the way.

Cya Brooks, Liddle and Tuilagi. Your services are no longer required. Meet Mr Lambkin on field 7 on Monday.

Can't wait till we finally have forwards who are willing to put one on moses chin.

He’s not a centre and it showed. Didn’t do anything to turn the the game Parra’s way though. Can’t say the same about Brooks.
I think everyone's had enough of the Brooks disaster incl AD. Imagine believing you are a capable 5/8 and an incomptent / overpayed player like Brooks keeps getting picked ahead of you. This club has no idea and has to grow a pair and make some real changes.

Yep

Could see AD backing himself at a different club if this fraudulent decision making continues.

I don't think Noddy is making good choices.

WTF, seriously? Brooks and Hastings were atrocious. The loss is on them. Doueihi was playing centre, he NEVER got passed the ball. Our halves are the worst in the comp. Doueihi and Madden to start next game.

Hastings form has fallen off a cliff. He's just predestrian, slow, poor runner, doesn't threaten the line, poor kicker. He can pass the ball to the backs but no cutouts, just simple passing. A bit of passion in his first few games aside he's been disappointing.

Brooks should have played his last game for us today. He's just not good enough. He's dumber now than he was 5 years ago. He's been regressing for a while. No upside, no future, just drop him and be done with it
The team tried hard but we were outclassed. There is a lot to like about our performance and some of the individual efforts were great.

Pole fulfilled the promise he demonstrated a couple of years ago down at Corrimal when he turned the momentum (and outcome) of the game with his strong running and defence. Matamua had a bright start despite his sin binnning I hope Tumeth, O'Kane and Boyling are given opportunities.

I don't agree on Brooks, sure some of his options were poor but again it was Brooks we went to when we needed tries and he delivered. His long kicking game was very good as it was the previous week.

Hastings has always been v/slow, the difference is the opposition are on to him. He offers zero in attack and his partner in the halves then feels the pressure to create. I wrote about it a couple of times last week. His first up contact is so poor and the ball runner runs another 5 to 10m before he is stopped.

Douehi was appalling last night. He missed the tackle badly which lead to a try. If what was reported on here occurred Sheens needs to take him aside and read him the riot act. Like Hastings, his first up contact is very poor, allowing the ball runner additional metres.

The sin bin one of worst decisions I've seen probably won the game for Parramatta as they won by 8 and scored 16 points when we have 12 men
What really annoys me is Moses is the new "cam Smith " constantly in conversation with ref and it was him carrying on which led to sin bin
Late in game when he got Brooks high was joking about it with ref and of course got away with it . I understand the cheese

Brooks has had 10 years to fix his crap. He ain't ever getting better at this club. But I agree with putting him at centre.
Don’t you mean the club has had 10 years to assemble a squad that can compete. Brooks is cooked with us he isn’t going to deliver us to the finals on his own, takes a squad/club to achieve. The notion of putting brooks to centre is to accommodate a player who virtually sulked out an average performance last night. So we reward petulance, that will certainly ensure players don’t hold them selves above the club.

Ennis is such a biased commentator I will not watch any game he commentates with his sound on . He forgets he was known as the
"Grub" when he played one of the most disliked players in the game

Ennis has an issue with us based on 2 things . His disdain for Robbie Farah , and the fact we tapped his best mate Reynolds on the shoulder, 2 years too late IMO.

Josh Reynolds was nicknamed grub

Yep. I'm not going to state he was tanking. He is just back from injury and maybe he should spend some time in reserve grade if he can't give us a decent performance in the top grade.

I'd have Madden ahead of him in the halves at the moment and To'a, Kepaoa and Junior Tupou (Naden as well but he is out suspended) ahead of him in the centres. He shouldn't get a shot in the forward pack because we have juniors coming through that can do the job.

The biggest low light of the game to me.

He has ability. I thought this year he was going to take the 6 spot.

Maybe he'll turn it around next week but he has gone from being one of our shining lights to an overpaid dud.

I'm not going to state he was tanking but his performance was terrible. You cannot reward that performance.

Pole and Utoikamanu have earned starting forward positions moving forward, would love to see Musgrove's energy off the bench and once Twal's healthy we can shoot Tamou off onto another planet.

This is pretty much how i saw the game as well Paws.

I felt that the only way we were going to beat the Eels was the do the 1%ers. At the end of the game the stats were either in our favour or close to being on par with Parra. We had more ball in the attacking zone to work with and we nearly got away with the win.
The errors that we did make were critical ones which resulted in them scoring.
Once again we switched off and let them back into the game.
Pole was impressive for a freshman and not many people have noted Garners effort. He made a lot of tackles and was all over the park.
Our pack just needs to be topped up with some quality backrowers to replace those departing.

It was the first game they have shown some passion in a long time, but as always soon as something goes against us we fold in a heap. Although at least it was not a blow out.

One other thing, Parra we’re going nowhere for the first 25 minutes, than Brown came into the game and he lifted their intensity. Certainly would be worth trying to get him home for a couple of seasons

Anyone know what Robbie's position is at the club?
Last I saw him running bottles, now he's in the box in a suit.
He can't be an assistant coach already??
