Safe to say Gamble won't play NRL with us again.

Hard to blame him … been waiting all year for a shot and the ‘regular’ first graders played worse than him.

All our halves are better than him.
I should have said no more NRL for him. Shortest career ever.

That is the type of performance to the same team that saw JT sacked. We have not moved as far as some think

It can’t be good for the team changing players every week. It happens too much.

Feel sorry for the people at the game

I saved myself an airfare in 2 weeks time going to Leichardt….i'll pass the ride on mower might be the go

Me too, I'm not wasting my money to lose my voice on the hill shouting at Matulino

I've already spent my money on 2 Season Tickets , Oh well the Roosters , Broncos , Parra game will have to do me thinks

Nothing good to say about the last 40 minutes. As soon as Hodgson came on and the starting props went off (and McIllwrick) we fell away badly.
Our middle defence was poor. I'm afraid ET played his worst game for us today and I don't think Eisenhuth is a starting forward.
RR is, dare I say it, a plodder.
Gamble tried hard but was out of his depth - the first kick which went dead would have dented his confidence and he made some poor decisions (although it would be harsh to criticise too much in his first game).
Unfortunately Brooks fell off a number of tackles but he was trying hard in attack.
Rowdy was a big loss - hope he's OK.
Thompson missed a few tackles but in fairness wasn't being given much help.
I'd like to see Robbie in, Grub or Benji back, Noffo in and I suspect MBye might be in the centres to replace Fonua.
A sad day when we give in but once the momentum starts it's like turning back the ocean.

Taylor was getting that performance out of his team regularly Cleary has improved things a lot so it is a rare occasion

Hope Robbie can bring half a Doz of The Bunnies forwards with him, as all of ours except Iawrence are gutless
That was the worst display from a pack of forwards in a long long time.
Sorry to see that Gamble had to have a debut in a ream like that, but he didn’t look any better than the rest.
Even before we laid down for the Raiders, Gamble was having a bad one
If I was Robbie , I’d run like hell

I am ashamed to be a supporter, these blokes have no heart, good luck Ivan, you are going to need it

Then dont support them, one bad game and all the toys out of the pram

I have supported wests and weststigers for almost 50 years, I dont need some johnny come lately telling me who I should support.
I would tell you what I think of your comment, but I wouldnt be back.
When wests got spoons they had heart, these blokes showed nothing, nearly 200 points against in our last 3 games against canberra is disgusting

Im happy for you mate if you think this team hasnt played with heart this year thats Ll i need to know about you.

Another rebuild year…..apparently....when we get an NRL side that can attack and defend all in the one season …...please let me know...

I look forward to that.....and a competitive team of deadset first grade footballers.... 😛ray:

Tbh it was always going to be a rebuild yeah. You just lost your best players. They have defended well. Even the storm let in a fair few point early this year it happens if we learn it may be a positive.

That is it, our supporters make excuses for everything bad that happens, happy with mediocrity, the team usually obliges with crap performances.
We had everything to play for, we were 4 points out of the 8 with 2 winnable games and the bye coming up. We had just come off 2 poor second half performances, which we should have won both games. And we come up with that crap, absolutely mind numbingly inept performances.

It's hard not to be despondent after seeing the same thing happen again. You'd deadset think Canberra were Brisbane circa 1993\. 0-44 in the last hour. At home. If they got to place us more often they'd be guaranteed minor premiers every year. They must think it's all a giggle. Where's the pride from our lot?

Every random pass Canberra threw was hitting. It was circus football and they do that occasionally. That being said, we helped them by waiting for them to come to us. We had no defensive linespeed and were giving them ample time to come forward where our players were just grabbing them and letting them offload at will. Once they got on the front foot from second phase they just rolled forward and started throwing long passes and smashing us on the fringes where Aloiai and Rochow were defending. Firsts things first, both of those guys are out of the side. They were atrocious.

Because they were playing side to side and had us shot to pieces pretty much the entire second half random players were defending all across the line which threw out all of our defensive patterns. It also tired us out completely. Guys like Twal and Eisenhuth just had nothing left at the end and couldn't contribute.

The fact that Fonua and Lawrence both went down exposed that side of the field entirely. The defensive systems that have helped Brooks improve were gone within 5 minutes. That's almost forgiveable.

The blame imo must fall on the experienced forwards that didn't manage to pick the Tigers up when Lawrence went down. Packer, Matulino and Taylor should have been able to steel them. They are three very experienced New Zealand rep forwards. There is no way guys like Liam Knight and Elliot Whitehead should be treating them like chumps but they did.

That being said, Canberra were simply amazing in that second half. They clicked. They slayed us. They didn't give us barely a single chance. We just helped them along.

Not a good loss but at least Cleary knows now that this team don't have much under the hood. I'd say we've been winning up until now because of the systems not the players. As soon as we lost two key members of the system we got obliterated.

Don't even have to mention that Thompson just can't tackle these guys in open field because he shouldn't really have to, but he has to be able to when he has to and he can't.

So! The scapegoats? I don't think it's a good idea to only pick one or two. I think he needs to take a scythe to the team to make a point.

Rochow - Out, no question.
Thompson - Back to the wing. Mbye straight in.
Packer - To the bench.
Taylor - Stint in reggies.
Grant - Out of the side and on the XPT to Newcastle tomorrow.
Aloiai - Back to reggies.
McIlwrick - Back to reggies.
Fonua - Looks to be a broken arm so he's out.
Lawrence - I think he'll be ok.
Matulino - By the skin of his teeth stays in the side.

Making the next side.

There is no pride Yoss, yet we have plenty making excuses for them, no wonder the players dont have a dig when the heat is on
