The whole team was off.
Easy to pick out the player you like to blame the most today and find fault. They were pretty much all below average.
Throw Ivan in with that too.

Spot on. The whole team was pathetic in a do-or-die game, that was the most disappointing thing.
People blaming MCK for the miss on Leilua, fair enough it was à dismal missed tackle but for the most part he has played bloody well this season. Same goes for Marsters, he was off his game last night but has been magnificent for the most part this year. Lawrence also.
The whole team is at fault for that performance, not just individuals.

Disgusting how in 3 huge games lately (Titans at LO with the much hyped addition of Robbie and Mbye, Bulldogs when we still had a massive chance of making the finals and last night) our team just totally capitulated under the pressure, that is inexcusable and most probably an indication of a deep-rooted deficiency in our whole club. Absolutely no idea how that sort of thing can be fixed.

Nothing new under the sun there, ftb. We are steeped in the history of falling apart when we need to win most. I can't recall the year, but I vividly remember the final game against Newcastle that we only needed to win to make the 8\. Lost by 2 points, but had ample opportunity to put it to bed throughout the entire game. Well and truly had their measure, but couldn't get out of first gear to do anything- extremely frustrating, much like yesterday. Totally different set of players, yet the same capitulation.

I really don't know what it takes to get this team motivated. If a shot at playing finals football can't, then I really have no idea what will. It boggles the mind.

It's the mentality of the club and
Its accepted by the supporters. Nothing's gonna change unfortunately.

Was Ivan about to storm out and stopped himself ??

Yeah I’d say so !
He’s gone …. looks to me likes his hearts not in it anymore.

Rubbish. Did you hear the ridiculous question he got asked? "Where has your joy gone Ivan?". i'd be close to walking out at such a contrived question trying to squeeze more out of him.

i reckon Ivan is just filthy at the media, i dont think its a problem with the club.

Not sure that its accepted by too many supporters TBH. Not much we as supporters can do except get out there and support the club passionately, which we do.
Ultimately it comes down to the players and their pride in the jersey, supporters can't provide that for them if they don't have it.

I know we can't do much but I'll give you an example. When we lost to the titans at LO I was having a look at Facebook. Dozens and dozens of fans gushing at how great the crowd was but not mentioning the result at all. We'r just got knocked out of the 8 but so many didn't care, LO got a crowd in so all is good.
Even on this forum there is a thread about overachieving this year.

So many of us are just happy to make up the numbers, like the club IMO.

So you've said at least 4 or 5 times. We get it. You don't like him and you want him to go.

If these smart arse questions are asked by journo hacks from one particular organisation ie: Telegraph, then the club should just blanket refuse to answer any questions from journo's from that organisation IMO. More clubs should do this for it to be effective. Sure they would just make up stories to suit their agenda's but intelligent people would recognize that they are made-up vindictive articles and not take it as gospel like has been happening a lot lately.
Clubs don't need the media, but the media sure as hell need the clubs.
Start putting a few of these scabby sensationalist organisations on the outer and watch them start crawling up to the clubs begging for forgiveness and a story.
The way pufferfish Crawley followed Cleary around after last weeks presser mouthing off deserved for Ivan to say "well do you want to step outside and get it sorted out with a whack in the gob?".
The media are unprofessional mud-throwing vermin in our sport these days and need to be dealt with. The fact that James Hooper is introduced as a "rugby league expert" is proof that these no-mate flogs in the media are deluded in their over-inflated opinion of themselves in the grand scheme of things.

Well said FTB

I don't think you can legitimately say this. The club employees want success - it's the only way they stay employed. Continued lack of success sees all coaches, administrators and support staff finding new jobs within a few years.

Supporters… not accepted at all. But what are you going to do? You can slit your wrists, or be constructively critical, or be optimistic, or be sad or be ignorant, but none of those impacts the way the team performs. GNR made a cynical comment about "true supporters" but the reality is 99% of us will be back to support the team next year, and your personal level of distaste for season 2018 is irrelevant.

You can vote with your feet and simply stop supporting the club, but then the club definitely doesn't improve without funding from supporters.

I'll believe it when I see it then. But I don't see the club owners/ board doing anything really significant in turning us into a powerhouse.

Mate I've been waiting since 2005\. We have a massive fanbase to become one of Sydneys powerhouses. Nothings happened though. Still at Concord, still three home grounds, still no juniors coming out of Campbelltown. Even if we get the COE (2020 according to Pascoe) thats still only catching up with most other clubs.

Give me a year when you expect us to be one of the strongest Sydney clubs on and off the field. Do you think we can?

I don't know if Wests Tigers or Balmain or Magpies have ever been one of the strongest Sydney clubs on and off the field? 1920?

1920 we were huge. Then the depression hit. We're still recovering

We had to wait for the press release re the Manly game to understand last week's poor performance

"Maybe they suffered a mental letdown after Brisbane rolled the Rabbitohs, but the Wests Tigers' recent good form was only on show in bits and pieces in last week's home loss to the Dragons."

As good an answer as our 200 pages of guessing and cursing.
