It's not their style….Littlejohn is the next in line...if they lost both they would go after a big name IMO

Hodgkinson, Cherry Evans and Foran werent big names. Just young guys with big expectations.

Litteljohn and Martin sound a strong pairing to me.

They are Manly, they have stole Wests players for ever and a day.

Yes that's why I hate them …they also have a history in Orford Lyon etc

I got three words to say about Manly losing their halves pairing.

Te Maire Martin

You think so Gong?

Can Gutherson play in the halves?

I know they rate Gutherson, at a pinch id say 5/8 but from what ive seen he is an outside back?

He won't flop. He's probably the most well rounded player in the game. He'd be fine at any outfit.

They certainly won't lose both! If one goes they then add an extra couple hundred k to the other…!

Still a decent chance of keeping both though, however their problems are that neither are local boys so there's less incentive to stay...

To be honest I couldn't care less about Manly and their troubles. I'm just very happy the Wests Tigers look like they are at last getting their house in order. We may never be the richest club in the NRL, but as long as we have the where-with-all to compete to keep our own kids and add the odd player or two, I'll be reasonably satisfied. Manly - meh!

Applies to both IMO. Foran and DCE won't flop.

As for manly. I can bet my life that they'll only come out of this stronger and better should they lose one or even both. If I were a manly supporter, I'd have full faith in the team.

Manly have been a terrific club for a really long time, and they have historically been terrific to their players, and until recently very few players they want leave, and even after they go, they are still part of the "family". This has been the corner stone to their success.
Ill tell a story that for me says alot about the club.
A young lower grade player who was signed to the club on an ARL junior player deal, but was outside the top squad, so was unable to play in the Super league year. Manly were very accommodating of the situation and let the player him play rugby and supported him in doing so, even allowing him to sign rugby contracts.
The club kept in contact, kept him involved in the club and a key official even went and watched him play.
Down the track they even let him use a club physio for an injury outside of playing for the club. That sort of stuff garners loyalty not only from that player but other players at the club. That is how they have kept together (until now) such a loyal bunch of players who keep turning up for the club.

I respect Manly, and think we could do worse than model ourselves on them.

Goose wash your mouth out with soap and write on the blackboard 1000 times, "I hate Manly."

Manly are vermin. End of story. Seems they don't want Toovey as coach (press reports of them trying to poach Brad Arthur back from Parra), DCE and Foran likely to leave, following Watmough, the place is in disarray. I think they'll finish bottom 5\. At best. And, the future is bleak.

Id say the Brad Arthur thing has been planted in the media by Manly ahead of their round one clash with Parra….Im thinking their worried

I would never, ever underestimate Manly. They have been through so much team disharmony and backroom crap before yet have still managed to remain competitive on the field, for many decades. In fact, I can't remember their last really bad season and by really bad, I mean a bottom four finish. I don't think it will be any different this season either, despite all the drama there at present. Any team would be foolish to take them lightly this season, imo.

More like the Arthur thing was planted by Florans' manger who happens to mange Arthur as well…to bump up both his client's prices...

MANLY chiefs have officially withdrawn their offer for superstar halfback Daly Cherry-Evans.

Sea Eagles CEO Joe Kelly said that Cherry-Evans failed to meet a Monday noon deadline to re-sign, and therefore, the club had decided to pull the multimillion-dollar deal.

“We’ve been talking about this for three-and-half months and we set him a deadline of midday on Monday and that has come and gone,” Kelly told AAP.

“At the end of the day we offered Daly what we consider a very good deal, but the reality is that we have a big game on Friday and we just want to focus fully on that and this is overshadowing it.”

With the 26-year-old now almost certain to leave Manly, Cronulla and the Gold Coast are now favourites to snare his signature from 2016 onwards.

Manly could now retain Cherry-Evans’ teammate Kieran Foran who is being chased by Parramatta who have reportedly tabled an offer of $4.7 million.
