Looking to the future!

So the Tedesco contract negotiations keep dragging on. Looking to the future if Tedesco does not resign and goes elsewhere, should we persist with Rowe?

Or should we be looking to sign a fullback from another club? What's everyone's thoughts and what fullbacks are available on the market?

Well given the lack of options I would stick with Rowe. He has showed some good signs of late.

I'd stick with Rowe and try and sign the best back that comes onto the market. Bar wingers. We have both wings and halfback covered well. A big name centre, 5/8 or fullback. Replacing like for like would be ideal, however unless you sign a fullback that is a far great player than Rowe it's not worth doing.

Dare I say it, doubt we'll be looking for a new fullback at all with Moltzen still on the books :frowning:

Rowe, Dan A-S, Moltzen all there next year, Simona and Nofo could also cover there which would be my choices as preference. Bring Koro back in on the wing.

That is of course if Tedesco leaves.

I don't think we need to be worrying about 5/8, plenty of depth there in Austin and Moses. Has anyone watched Abou Sleiman play any state cup games? Does he go all right?

Noticed in the article about Tedesco that Reece Robinson is off contract.

IF Teddy went to Canberra i would like to see the club make a play for Robinson. He was killing it at fullback when the Raiders had him there and would come at a reasonable price.

He has been very ordinary this season Bones

I think Rowe is adequate back up, but not a full time NRL first grader IMO.

If we lost Tedessco and were unable to secure a proven performer (hoffman perhaps) Id be looking at the following juniors as the most promising.

Kieran Moss from Penrith
Jack AHearn from Canberra, he is currently playing 5/8 and dominating in QLD cup, but played as much fullback as anything else.
Clint Gutherson
or an absolute bolter is the kid in the Roosters SG Ball Lattrel Mitchell,he is a FREAK, a long shot I know, but Tedesco went straight from SG Ball to NRL in a season. This kid was better IMO at SG Ball level (not that it will definitely translate) but he is very special IMO.

I have heard good things about that Lattrel too, havent seen him myself, but if he is even half as good as I keep hearing he must be a special…

I suppose the easiest solution is signing Tedesco

Stop worrying about the one thing you don't have much control about Mr Mayer (how many people are going to show up to Campbelltown on Saturday ) and get your cheque book out and sign Tedesco

Problem solved

Watched him have a game this morning for MCC at the CCC carnival…. dominated as usual.

He is outstanding. Better than Dallian Watene Zeleniak was the year before last (he didnt play last year cause he didnt have to)

He is on the end of a pretty ordinary backline though, and being coach by Ricky Stuart.

Thing is if we don't have the money to sign Teddy we don't have enough for any other top shelf fullback. I think for what he would be asking Robinson is worth the risk. The club has got good value from these type of signings in the past.

Mansor would be a good pickup too but I can't see him being too much cheaper than Teddy.

Mitch Moses will be groomed as a fullback if we lose Teddy.

Tigers are looking at 2 spine options:

1.Tedesco
6.Moses/Austin
7.Brooks
9.Farah

You guys are not wrong about Latrell. He is a machine. I know the kid in real life, and he's always been cut out for the sport… If they gave him a chance here, he definitely wouldn't disappoint.

The longer this Teddy thing goes on I'm thinking there is More than meats the eye! Have watched Moses at fullback a couple of times and he looks Very impressive and the most important part is that he is already on the books that's a lot of money to stock the shelves in certain positions .

I was going to ask whether Moses could succeed at fullback? He might be more suited there with Austin at 5/8 like KS said.
