Looks like Gallen Doesn't Rate or want Woods in the Team

Interesting listening to Gallen's comments on triple M Monday night after Giddley was ruled out.

You'd thing he'd have a fair idea who Daley rates and who the possibilities of playing were as well.

He said he thought they should go with another Big forward and then proceeded to list about 6 or more names of candidate's who could step in.

NONE of which were Aaron Woods.

People seemed to think Woods ruined his chances in the souths game.

This makes me wonder if he was ever a chance at all. It was a pretty long list for him not to be on it.
I suspect Daley does not rate him and he wasn't seriously discussed.

Woodsy the next Nathan Merritt/Luke Burt/El Masri? So many games, so many records, no nsw jumper. In between, so many wtf selections, guys who you don't even remember today. Hope he gets selected some day.

i dont think woods has set any records. he's missed out one year- that's it.
he's in the top 4 nsw props: grant, tamou, fifta, woods.. just coz daley doesn't want 4 props- that's a different story

Not sure if you read the opening post… woods wasn't even in the next 4 props they would have chosen.

''Personally, I think they should pick another bigger bloke,'' Gallen told Triple M. ''Cordner, Tim Grant, Tariq Sims or someone like that.

Well, two of them are back-rowers.

You might be right, but I'm not too worried. Woods will have his day.

Its a fair jump from a Gallen radio comment about a few people in contention, to "this is how they would have definitely proceeded".

Don't read so much into it.

the name may not hahve come to hi,m as he was listing them, doesnt mean he does not rate him, or he is no chance

I think that Souths game was so bad it did his chances in.

Seriously? One bad game in 2 seasons of bloody good, consistent football that has made him one of the form props of the comp and the selectors only take note of that? They have never had a problem choosing players, who have not performed well a week or two prior to Origin before - in fact, they do that more often than not.

Sterlo was calling for Woods to be included. The selectors may change their tune when Merrin puts in another sub-par origin performance.

Yep Merrin can be Blair like metre wise in SOO

Gallen is sprooking his team mate Fafita, who in all honesty is in red hot form at club level and if he carries it through should go alright as an off the bench prop.

Woods will get his time.

with Gidley out (and even before ) it seemed many people wanted larger men in the pack..and Gallen did say that also. But Daley is going for the backrowers with only 2 specialist props, of course one of them being Fifita. Much as I think he is ok , he is still not any 80 minute SOO prop…he and Tamou are in for a heavy night, and if NSW lose..bye bye Laurie..

Merrin's playing a lot better this year than in previous years when he was selected, so im confident he'll do well this series.

As for woods, i think the players picked in the team for game one deserve it more at this stage. Woods' time will come

I'm not stating its right but that game was really bad. He missed a centre running straight up the middle. I think the selectors looked at that and went - we'll go for Fifita.

Woodsy can prove himself in the club games, an opportunity for him to shine. Go smash them Woodsy!!! Woodsy would even be better in the next season.
