Lote on Big Sports Breakfast

Anyone hear him interviewed this morning, about 8am.

Was a fair bit about WTs, so Ive posted here.

They at one stage went down a track of comparing things at Souths & here….at no time was he dissin us....and what he said i guess was nothing we dont already know...still its tough hearing it again

_*They ''look after you medically'' at souths\
\
*Your "concerns are listened to".\
\
*Tight group, one change room...two at WTs - two groups\
\
*Things are much more professional at Souths\
\
*Everything a rung or two up at Souths (commentator suggested this which Lote agreed with)_

Its not a level playing field this NRL comp, and things are getting tougher and tougher for us clubs with less coin to keep the good players

Just heard on 2SM, Tunks suggesting Teddy would be a perfect fit for the Dogs, Id hate to see that....but its what the Dogs need, and its what Teddy needs, its more than we can offer (not sure his contract status)

The lack of sponsors on our jersey on Sunday was glaring, we have Sheens taking us to court, we have a current coach working basically for nothing.....I find it difficult to see a light at the end of the tunnel, its going to be very tough for a long time I think

Not sure how having 2 changing rooms could benefit the team at all ?

I read something this week where the Dogs are talking to a NRL Fullback - no names mentioned of course in the article but since Tunks mentioned it and he is an old Doggies man who knows ?

I agree, hearing the things mentioned in Lote's interview are tough to think about. Being a supporter, you'd like to think your team is a little more bonded, and, well; what a team should be. Hopefully some of those points are exaggerated a bit, but it's hard to say. Regarding Tedesco, yes that would really suck and I believe he's off contract at the end of this season. The Wests Tigers have stuck by him for the last two seasons with injuries and all, so hopefully he shows us some faith.. Would be a shame to lose him just as he's hitting his peak.

You have to keep in mind Lote WANTED another year with the Tigers but it wasn't offered…so now he is bagging us!

Regarding the DOGS...they seem to be cashed up and have engaged the Roosters accountant...I heard they are about to announce signing a fullback from another NRL club...I'd be spewing if Teddy leaves us

So that's two players who have now mentioned the split dressing rooms… I'd like to know exactly what they mean.

Rumours today the Dogs are talking to Glen Fisiiahi from the Warriors. I hope that's the fullback they're talking to. Also been mentions in the past they're interested in Kevin Locke.

Hoping the Fifita signing means they can't afford Tedesco. He should be priority 1 for us. Was our best player in the back half of last year and from trial and Rd 1 form looks like being our best this year.

Every time you have a player interviewed who has gone to a new team, code, whatever, they always talk about how much better it is at the new place compared to the old place. There may be some things that are better, but don't believe everything they say.

I heard Lote on BSB & the way he spoke we actually have two change rooms, He also said they look after you Medically but Souths also have more Money.

Its the H & A sheds at Concord…I guess its convenient to use both at training, but it can lead to a split atmosphere without it being even realised, or maybe its intentional....status ....two blokes have mentioned it so its somewhat significant

The second player to have mentioned that now. Lote's sitting pretty this yr, with an unlikely fg spot nailed down in a side odds on to go all the way. Doubt he has any reason to be bitter.

Wait… Do we literally have 2 separate change rooms where the players get dressed before training? I thought it was just a metaphor about having 2 different groups of friends in the team

If that's not reason enough to move out of Concord I don't know what is. I could understand if it was firsts and reserves/20s split between the two, but having 2 different change rooms for the one side is embarrassing.
Mayer's really got his work cut out for him, but it just seems as though things are gradually getting worse.

It's two change rooms, NOT two groups - and in recent times its been referred to as "Injured/Non-Injured"

They all train together, have meetings together, but like every group, they obviously have players in the team they are more friendly with.

They way they train down there is not what you'd expect of a FG Club, however all the facilities are in place. It may not be all brand new and shiny like everytime a Fitness First opens, but the equipment there quality - and there is lots of it. They have current tech generation computers, digital whiteboards, copiers, etc all through the place, and the Coaching team look like any close knit work group. The corporate side is kept separate to the training facilities there which is only going to benefit the group.

I know this because I've done work down there, and been walked through the place several times.

Don't read too far into what Lote says. Shiny New equipment doesn't mean necessarily better.

I'm going to put more faith in Mayer's comments. In which he disparaged the facilities at concord, and i suspect is a reason behind looking at other places to train. We either have to move or upgrade, and moving could be cheaper.

Maybe lite was referring to something a little closer to home with his 2 (dressing) rooms comment. His actions overseas pretty much guaranteed him a new club this year. Either that or his better half found a new job.

The fullback Dogs are talking to is Peta Hiku from Manly.

Tedesco is solid with us, sure every club will run their eyes over our best performing players, but we have the advantage that so many of them are 100% Tigers juniors.

Not surprised Souths are more pro than us behind the scenes, they have money and a strong membership base. You wouldn't like to see the kind of money Broncos spend on their operations vs Tigers.

What a hypocrite - bet he wasn't in the number 2 dressing room.

So you spread out into two sheds if there isn't enough room in one?
So what!
It would be natural that the guys who have been there a long time and knew each other best would hang out - same thing goes for after training.
You'll most probably find the young single guys don't hang so much with the family guys.
What next?
Does somebody want them all to squeeze into the same shower for team harmony?
They train together, play together and on a lot of occasions socialise together.
I've played with plenty of guys that weren't my cup of tea but you still band together on a football field.
