it has me baffled as to why WT are continuing with this charade.

More and more chances to get Lote picture in a PROTON CARS Wests Tigers Jersey in the paper perhaps…..it's a joke really,....I hope I'm wrong, but our team doesn't need him...save the money , don't sign the SideShow.....LIma & Fui...well thats something else

come om guys as i have said before both parties have to say that to appease the small minded tall popies of the nrl. Gallop is in my mind a good leader of the nrl but with this no you cant play union and then return to league caper we cant seem to be bending the rules as such. it is plain to me and i would be very very suprised if we did not see him in tigers clours next year.

i dont think proton is on board for next year….....

if there was nothing to this story then they wouldnt worry about an official statement, they didnt release an official statement 3-4 weeks ago when the story first broke in the papers

LOTE TUQIRI'S interest in pursuing a short-term overseas rugby union contract during the off-season appears to be the sticking point in the dual international finalising an NRL return with the Wests Tigers.

The Tigers issued a statement today denying they had come to terms with the Fijian-born flyer.

Chief executive STEPHEN HUMPHREYS said the club would be complying with an NRL edict that players weren't allowed to have guest stints with other codes when under a rugby league contract.

TUQIRI, who also played rugby league for Australia during his NRL career with Brisbane, is an obvious target for NRL clubs but apparently is also keen on a lucrative spell playing rugby union in either England or France during the off-season.
aap

Boys, you can 100% see this whole stuff up falling through.

Only a DESPERATE club would allow it's main signing to go off to UK rugby…........................we can't even sign him to a contract until he finishes. Great way to create uncertainty. What if he breaks his ankle playing rugby in March?????????? We don't even have him then.

Either he signs OR use the $$$ to get someone NOW.

This has become a joke. Only us. No self respecting footy club would allow this farce.

You are a goose. You are criticising the club in taking a flexible approach to a signing. Geez sometimes this club can never win. Are you sure you are a supporter?

I can bet you I've been a supporter a hell of a lot longer than you kid.

Flexible??????? Everything's on his terms.

We get no promotiong him, no guarantee over medical stuff, no pre season, no learning the team's drills, no pre season fitness / UK rugby is light years behind NRL fitness.

And we get to pay him $400 000 a year to turn up when he's ready. Yeah, that's "Flexible" mate.

400k a season including third party… who cares... something tells me the third party will contribute a fair amount haha

Lote has said he has not signed.

Wests Tigers through their CEO has categorically said he has not signed.

if you read the News Ltd article carefully they also say he hasn't signed.

There's a theory that goes something along the line: All things being equal the most likely scenario is the correct one.

And what is that here? He has not signed and maybe he will play with the Wests Tigers next year and maybe he won't, NO 100% SURE THING.

like i said if there was no truth to the story they wouldnt deny it so strongly, and quickly aswell, they dont want the news broken by someone other then the WT club, but the jig is up, they may aswell come out and just announce it now.

and for those who think im not 100% ask fainty who i PM'd on tuesday that this story would break on thursday, i just thought the club would actually come out and announce it after it broke.

come cnx are youi serious if we have got him for 3 years let him play his oseas stint as he did lose some cash when sacked by the ARU. imo he will not only be a star on the field but what he can bring in terms of sponsorship and coverage for the tigers is uncapped and would bring in more fans as well. and also we would only be paying 250-300k with the rest coming from a third party.

agreed

Foxsports have changed their tune a little after the WT press release….......Lote being followed in Woolomooloo.......not answering questions......the plot thickens.......

We will just have to wait and see I guess......keeps things interesting.......

I hope he's worth it.............

I doubt the club is even paying that much for him matty tiepie. There will be some big 3rd party deals involved mainly because of the profile Lote will bring to the organisation/s he represents via these agreements

if some of you could read between the lines you could see for yourself that its all but official,

if we werent signing him they would flat out say we arent signing him

if he wasnt signing with us he would flat out say hes not signing with us

neither party has said such, but keep repeating how they are in "talks" with each other.Well you can only talk so much before others pick up on something and the media has finally picked up on it. i mean how long are they gonna keep saying that? we've been "in talks" with lote for over 2 months, it is a complicated situation yes, but not that complicated and eventually someone was gonna let it slip and now it has.

Well Done Anderson - Your mail is 100%

Time to enjoy the prospect od 2010, Lote is it in the bag.

This is making the off season even harder for me.

Only 19 weeks left to go….

wow, it's going to be such an anti-climax when it finally becomes "official"

get over it peeps! Lote will be in a Wests Tigers jersey in 2010!
