Lote Tuqiri

I was thinking more of a right centre option.

Big T is gone for the regular season at least, had ankle surgery

Defensively he may be small but he completely dominated Mansour when they played the Wolves this season out at Windsor and has to be better then Ayshford

I am impressed by Lote's continued efforts to get back, he could have sat back and with his profile done a number of different things, but he has worked hard and with only 4 games left is still trying to crack first grade.

Thats a sort of hunger and enthusiasm I can appreciate.

With Koro injured I'd be happy to give Lote a run.

probably has an eye on playing for Fiji in the RLWC .

Get ayshford out and start simona on ayshfords side to prepare for next year.

Lote can play center, and deserves a send off more so than ayshford and that's all I see aysh in the team for cause he is worse than pomeroy.

Lots isn't an NRL quality centre, his defence is just not good enough.

With no other options available, being on the wing is not too shabby.

I just got the members email and Lote makes his return this week. Well done to him. It takes persistence to get back on the field with the amount of injuries he's had. Good luck to him.

Lote has had 400000 "thank you's"each & every year ,contributing in just his initial year,so we owe him absolutely nothing tbh
Frankly his attempts to resurect his career over the past 24 months have induced sadness more than anything else, but unlike others he has acted with grace & dignity with the teams best interests at heart
Its Potters call(whose career ISNT over, but gets judged weekly)to make the call on Lote, but Id like to see him outperform in State Cup & earn his spot rather than be selected on sentiment on what he was a decade or so ago
Lastly,we have a 33 yo Pat Richards next year..surely we dont need Lote or Utai in 2014,unless were entering a golden oldies comp??

Lote was on a 3 year deal at a reported $400k, no word on what he is on this year but do you really think the club stumped up that much again?

He has shown persistence, but hasnt earnt this callup in any way, shape or form.

Lote is about to realise just how slow, old and out of touch with NRL he really is. He was playing dreadful footy before his latest injury and he has only played around 20 games in the past 3 years.

Good luck to him for sure but I am pretty nervous for him. I envisage at least 6 Lote threads to appear post game.

Well done to Lote. Don't know if he is in our plans next year but deserves to go out in 1st grade based on everything he has achieved in the game.

IMO, a very good role model and offers something to the younger blokes in the squad.

Hope he stays injury free for the next 4 games.

ps: I think he was only on an incentive type contract this year as his $400k 3 year deal finished last year. I don't think he has cost us much money this year, either way he is/was better value than a Terry Hill, Pettybourne or Adam Blair to date. Although I'm glad to see Blair playing better these days.

Go Lote!!!

I would like to see him have one last crack even for old times sake.Let the guy retire knowing it was the right decision

Me too
Hope he can go out on a high even though it might be far from it.
It was a good time to coat hanger Ashford but all other boys are injured.
Wish Lote all the best..

Good luck to Lote, hope he does well, it will be tough for him but he couldn't play any worse than some playing inside of him. Persistence and opportunity have given him a shot.

Would be a perfect time to give Hitchcox a run.

True competitor

Koro is unbelievably injury prone every 2nd game….....

I think he knows he is on borrowed time, and is desperate to get a run. It's a shame really as it seems that his mind is willing but the body isn't holding up to the rigours and pace of NRL.

I would assume he'll finish the year in first grade if Koro doesn't return which is fair enough, the season is shot and he'll have a go. At least it's likely he'll get to finish his career on his own terms unlike poor Matty Utai.

Apparently if Lote is signed up to play in 2014, he will no longer be considered on the wing, but either in the centres or backrow.

I don't think we are short in either position there…. Source?
