Getting through his first game back from an ankle injury is the main priority for Wests Tigers winger Lote Tuqiri at Leichhardt Oval on Saturday night.
Tuqiri will make his much awaited return against the Sydney Roosters at the same venue he suffered the ankle injury against Newcastle Knights in 13\. The injury occurred just minutes into his comeback from an arm injury suffered in round 8.
Head Coach Tim Sheens confirmed the dual international is set to go in what will be his fifth match of the season. Beau Ryan has been named on the right wing.
“Lote has trained well. We thought about playing him last week but decided to give him another week so hopefully that would have helped his preparation,’’ Sheens said.
“He likes playing at Leichhardt so hopefully things will work out well for him.”
Captain Robbie Farah said supporters should not expect too much first up from Tuqiri.
“I’m sure he will try and feel his way into the game,’’ Farah said.
“It will be a bit like Chris Lawrence and his first game back against Parramatta. You ask anyone coming back from a long term injury. You have your concerns and your doubts heading into that first game and its always a relief when you get through it.
“Hopefully for Lote, he gets a good 80 minutes out for us and injury free, touch wood. "
