Personally I'm quite happy for them all to leave. I want to see the contracts for Woods firstly and then Tedesco taken off the table and the sooner the better.

Funny enough Moses played or trialed in the juniors for the Eels. They said he was to small and he was picked up by the Tigers.
 
Loyalty is there but the player also has to have integrity.

Loyalty doesn't necessarily mean having to stay at the club that developed you or taking less to stay. What it does entail is not stringing along your club for your own means. I would respect these guys a lot more if they just stopped the umming and aaghing and gave an honest answer on what their intentions are. If they have signed somewhere else so be it but have the integrity to tell the club so they can make a move for the future. As for Moses and his dummy spit because he and his manager wouldn't accept what was obviously an over generous offer - tough. The club sacrificed future stars for this brat and he gets upset when a contract that had been on offer for 6 months is pulled. Grow up Mitch.

For sure, loyalty is not just about length of service or pay, loyalty can be in other forms. its just that loyalty is only ever an issue when contract negotiations come up and contract negotiations are what brings this uming and aring to the fore, best deal - better deal yadda yadda .

But i believe that clubs who invest in Jnr development should be given some protection by the NRL, if no club puts effort into jnr development we will see all the young athletes go to competing sports and the code will struggle.

By protection i mean allow concessions under the cap for players coming through the ranks, ensure the clubs pays a realistic value for the player and that player must stay at the club for X number of years.

Its becoming clear that Moses was inspirational in Farah being shown the door (JT alluded to this last night) so your reap what they sow rap is a bit confusing. Moses stabs Farah in the back, then his club.
 
why would you be loyal to WT? what others see is how we treated sheens, potter, benji and farah.

were we wrong? not always, but WT isn't considered a loyal club.

Potter wasn't offered a new contract. Simple. as that.

Sheens had been here a decade. He was stale, the club was stale, the supporters were stale.

Benji broke his contract and appeared in promo video in an Auckland Blues jersey the day after a game with us.

Farah. Well enough has been said about him, but its looking like Moses had a hand in his departure. You can't argue that a player doesn't have to show loyalty because of how another player was treated if the first player had a hand in it.

It's true of every club, you can find players and coaches at every club who were shown the door. I get that it is part of the business, the thing is that supporters mostly follow clubs, not players, and that is the way the game works. So supporters are always going to want / expect club loyalty and be upset when it's not shown by players.

I absolutely agree clubs can sometimes be disloyal to players, but supporters are less concerned about that. Supporters aren't entirely reasonable people, we scream at tellys and write in forums about a game played on grass by athletic men.

I can't say Tigers were disloyal to Benji though, he was benched and that was a reasonable move, then he took it upon himself to move to rugby. Whether or not they had contract offers to him that were modified/withdrawn, he was losing his mojo as a player and that's unfortunate. Farah is the same, he wasn't the same player as he was before and it sucks for him that he was moved on, but he was taking up a huge amount of salary cap and honestly wasn't performing to that level. Not his fault the value was backended, but he got his money.
 
All I can say about loyalty is that it is a thing of the past….Greedy unscrupulous player managers have seen to that...

In its day LOYALTY was something to be proud of and revered....

you need to build credibiliy and loyalty, it's not something that's your birthright. in 15 years unfortunately, we haven't achieved that in the eyes of others.

Nice try CB but I'm making a judgement on what was actually done - not what I think done or was in their minds.
 
In isolation the actions of these players is disgraceful with so many players and coaches being moved on to accomodate them. That said we have brought this on ourselves with incompetence at management level and the treatment of Farah. You can't expect loyalty when you don't display it as a club.

Cleary will fix it but will take 2 years of pain. Get on the bus for the rebuild.

Yes, what was done in the public spotlight. Unless you're in the boardroom or locker room the catalyst(s) for that action is simply conjecture from where you sit.
 
The treatment of Farah almost handed them a get out of jail free card when and if the loyalty angle was used to guillt them into signing. I will be disappointed if they go - but hold no ill will. I am surprised they havnt gone already.
Just get it sorted fellas so we can all move on.
They have seen us through the worst of times cant blame them for not buying into the talk - probably falling on deaf ears.
