If lote is in our plans for fullback and moltzen in the halfs further down the track…I say do it now!

EASY.

Blake Lazarus to 7…............and he'll be our half for a long, long time.

He's everything we need. Class. Just do it Tim.

Side note: Just for a laugh, imagine Fitzy to 6 / Benji to 7.....this forum would melt

trust me, i'd switch it off for a few days

I was against Lote at fullback, but after 2 games I say he is our best option,Moltzen should never play fullback again,he showed no commitment, his efforts at catching any kick be it a bomb or grubber are ordinary at best and his kick returns cost us 20 metres a set.

I hope Brown doesn't play fullback. He doesn't look good under the high ball.

As opposed to the fellow who started there the last two weeks?

Its not like your going backwards with a different fullback is it.

As for Moltzen I think he can be a gun fullback but he is not a natural in the position. He is a natural footballer so he could make it but how many games will he lose us until it clicks.

Im a bit torn on this issue.

If you are looking for a big aggressive no nonsense player with attitude then Meaney is the man.

And he is a very good goalkicker as well and runs the ball back at pace.

But Lazo is the best player out of the two lowers and you could slot him in at one or seven in a heartbeat.Awesome skills great kicking game and good ticker,my only issue is his size,he is tall but atm but a lightweight one.

Or Sheensie could wack Moltz into 7 and Fitzy at 1…....who I must admit went prett well last week.No donuts and showed plenty of ticker at the back.

Gallant is playing for the Mackay Cutters. Obviously he is highly regarded by the other NRL clubs. Just like Mathew Head who is now playing for Dapto Dogs.

Exactly, no loss.

Unfortunate for Lui. Will be interesting to see what happens.

Happy with Moltzen coming into the 7 or even Lazarus.
The less disruption the better.
I fail to see why Lote can't handle fullback!

He never played that position for the Broncos and I can't recall him playing too many games at fullback for the Tahs or Wallabies, and he hasn't played league for 7 years.

Let him adjust to the speed of the game and the defensive structure (or lack there of) we have first.

He certainly has the ball running skills to go very good for us at fullback later in the season, but I would give it probably another month before I switch him.

He's going very good on the left wing, why weaken one position to strengthen another?

Have to agree with Geo.. Mass changes will only be disruptive. Leave Lawrence and Ayshford in the centres, they are more than capable. Leave Lote on the wing he is working out great there and looks comfortable. Moltz is a good footballer, i am not sold yet wether he is good at the back or good in the halves, but he is a good utility back who needs to remain at fullback. Bring in Lazarus, he has all the ingredients of a champion halfback and his form proves so.
My backline to electrify the eels.

1\. moltzen
2\. Tuquri
3\. Lawrence
4\. Ayshford
5\. Ryan
6\. Marshall
7\. Lazarus
Thats a class looking backline that will put on the points if the forwards break the advantage line and roll up there sleeves in defence.

Shame for Lui though.

It also goes part of the way, not forgetting his head clash earlier, on why his defensive performance was so down on the previous weeks game

Losing a playmaker for an extended period is bad news any way you look at it. Very unlucky for Lui.

The only positive I can see is it might lead to Moltzen shifting out of fullback, where he is completely out of his depth.

to lose the one guy who consistently makes fullbacks chase his kicks, yet moltzen kicks them dead or straight to the fullback and that is a blessing.
hayne is licking his chops now.

if moltzen does go to half,i hope he has a blinder, but if he leads us like he did with that pathetic piece of play he did with rhino i don't want him anywhere near the 7 again.
not even morris did something that bad.

would love to see laz or arana, just to see what they have got,but wouldn't mind if we played ryan at fullback.

a real shame for lui,he really needed the time to develop even if it was in reggies where some people think he belongs.

get well soon

You are right about giving him time, but I remember him playing fullback for the Broncos against Balmain when he was about 19 and he carved us up. If players who don't play the position - aka Fitzhenry - can fill in impromptu due to injury, then I don't see why Lote can't do it with a few training sessions. Come on - then we put that big Pritchard on the other wing, or have Ryan and Fitzhenry as the wingers - both of whom run the ball back okay.

What year was it he carved us up from fullback? I don't seem to recall, not saying I don't believe you and there have been that many players who have carved us up over the years on an individual basis they all meld into one.

Look I am no wests tigers expert but I remember the Broncos had lost 6 in a row and they came to Leichhardt in 1999 I think - Craig Field was playing for us - and Lockyer pulled out, and I remember thinking - here we go! - and they had a new young fullback, Lote. And he played very well and we broke the Broncos losing drought.

We weren't Wests Tigers then, we were Balmain Tigers in 1999.

You really aren't an expert.

I think his point is more that Lote has played Fullback before and tore up the tigers that night
