Lui misses training for baby arrival March 9, 2011
WHILE Benji Marshall was the centre of attention at Concord Oval yesterday, Wests Tigers halfback Robert Lui had an eventful day, too, missing training to rush his girlfriend to hospital to give birth.
The 21-year-old will start at No.7 for the Tigers against Canterbury on Monday, and coach Tim Sheens said he had little concern that his combination with Marshall would lack any polish, despite missing the session to be with expectant partner Taleah Backo. ''We've done a lot of work in the off-season with Robert Lui and Benji,'' Sheens said. ''Their private life is their private life - when they walk in the doors downstairs their job is to leave that behind, and they do that pretty well.
''Robbie's girl has been very compliant by having the baby early. I'm confident that Robert and Benji will have their act together by the end of the week.''
