Thanks Willow, Its nice to get a responce so quickly, Lets hope everything goes well for the young man, I know he is **supposed** to of done the wrong thing ; but I believe in 2nd chances myself, such a loss for the tigers and rugby league, if he is convicted, goodluck Robert and go the mighty TIGERS .

the word is "alleged" benny!!

That is my last pre-Xmas reminder!

There is a big difference between "supposed" and "alleged" in a legal sense - and this being a legal matter - it needs to be respected!

To refer to the incident in any other terms in a public forum is effectively in contempt of the ongoing court proceedings and is also a matter of subjudice!

If I was picking on your wording I would have referred to "responce" typo or "supposed to of" instead of "supposed to have" etc - but I am not being an english nazi - merely ensuring probity in regards to a matter before the courts!

I must add that I do agree with your sentiments benny and I meant no offence - but feel free to scrutinise and criticise my posts.

Hey Redemption, hows it going? To be honest mate im not really interested in this tit for tat banter that you seem to enjoy, Im really just interested in news and information about my beloved tigers, I didn;t think this was a court room or a class room for that matter, I dont care if people cant spell or use a wrong word here and there, I just thought this was a friendly forum to express our veiws about our tigers and all things related, no hard feelings, remember we are all supporters of the same club.Ill take this opportunity to wish you and your family a very merry christmas and a happy new year.

Stick to the topic and use the pm function for personal messages please.

Well, on the tigers site there is a xmas wish or something and Rob Lui's on it saying he can't wait for Round 1

That just shows he remains a big part of the Tigers family…

His court date this week was merely for further mention (while parties discuss a negotiated outcome) - and he will likely be back there in early 2011!

If it has been sorted out of the public eye and all is back to normal…

The Tigers need the battle for the No7 to be on the Park.

The matter is still before court. Details as to whether Lui's partner will give evidence against him will be a key determining factor in how far it goes now. Given that Lui altered bail conditions allow him to have contact with her, there must be some doubt as to whether she will give evidence against him, but the Police can still proceed without her testimony if their case is strong enough. Time will tell.

LUI WELCOMES THE HALF-BACK BATTLE
By Wayne Cousins

The experience of playing regularly alongside the world’s best player in Benji Marshall and the taste of finals football has half-back Rob Lui primed for a very big season.

Lui admits to ‘finding his feet’ in 2010 after playing just a few NRL games the season before after graduating from the Toyota Cup competition.

“The first couple of games last season it was a learning curve for me. I found my feet towards the back end and really enjoyed the season,’’ Lui said.

“I’m really pumped for this season. I’m looking forward to it. It should be a good year for Wests Tigers .”

Lui says the likes of Marshall, hooker and captain Robbie Farah, to experienced prop Todd Payten have played a major role in his development as a young NRL player as he prepares for an almighty battle for the coveted half-back position following the return of Tim Moltzen from a knee injury.

“I want to be the key person in the seven jersey,’’ Lui stated.

“There is always plenty of talk about who will play half-back between Moltz and me but at the end of the day, it is what is best for the team.

“Moltz and I are good mates and the talk doesn’t faze us. Tim and I both want to be playing first grade in round one. It is a good challenge and it is good for the club as well to have two competitive half-backs fighting for the one position.

“All this talk in the end though means nothing as it will come down to Tim Sheens. If he feels I’m the number seven then so be it, if he feels its Tim, then that’s how it is.

“One of the key lessons I learnt last year was to be cool when it comes to pressure. Benji is always cool, he teaches you that as well as directing the forwards.

“I also want to read the game a bit better. Towards the back end of last year, I had better vision in terms of playing either short or long, feeding Benji, or running off Robbie or hitting the forwards or backs."

Lui admits he even sits back at times and marvels at the magical skills of the Golden Boot winner.

“It is still a very big buzz for myself to be playing alongside Benji Marshall,’’ Lui said.

“He was one of my idols when I was at Keebra Park High. He is clearly above everyone else. It is amazing to watch what Benji does.

"Everyone does it, from the coaching staff, the players, to the fans. Benji Marshall is in another world and hopefully he stays there so Wests Tigers can win the premiership in 2011.”

Well, that just about confirms that he'll be sticking around in 2011.

There was never a suggestion that he would be leaving! The club is helping him through his off-field issues and never considered cutting him!
