Luke Brooks #167

The issue I have with Brooks and his fans and apologists in the media is that they all told us we were crazy. They told us we were disloyal. They told us it was our
team, not him.
Is it possible both of these are true? I’m not sure why it’s got to be black and white. He went to a club that did well to cover his flaws all season, something we never did because we are an average club. And the fact we still finished with the spoon this year should tell any informed league follower that our issues have always run deeper than who plays halfback,.

With that in mind it will be interesting to see how an origin level half influences team performance in 25?

Luke is like a lot of players.
Played for one club and then moved to another.
Same, same.
Except this one's one of ours and some can't let go.
Goes with the territory.
Like it?
Don't like it?
Don't worry - winning cures everything, including tangents.
Bring on 2025.

But who replaced brooks? If we had an elite halfback we wouldn’t have got the spoon this year.

If I was Tedesco, I’d be wondering why Brooks gets talked about so much more than him on here.

Losing Teddy was massive for us and sent us down the ladder. We actually won more games without Brooks.

I don’t think about Brooks unless the media bring him up or I see this thread popping up.
Us losing Teddy would have to be one of the biggest blunders in the game only beaten by the Dogs telling Thurston "Youre too small, piss off"

We didnt lose Teddy, he lost us - he never wanted to stay here no matter what money WT offered...EXACT same story as Stefano...he wanted to go to a club where he'd win a premiership, and he rightly thought the WT aren't it....same with Stefano and watch the same will happen with Galvin...

So did Brooks, but we were silly enough to offer him $1M. Once that contract was done he was outta here.

Correct about Galvin. He will be a bigger loss than Teddy if he goes.

When the other 3 left and Brooks stayed he wasn’t on big coin… it was Madge who offered him the $1m contract… Brooks chose to stay loyal… but in the end he was sick of losing.. same will happen with Galvin… if we are rubbish again in 2025…Galvin will sign with another club come November 2025… guaranteed

Hmm.. my recollection is Brooks was underperforming and was given a lower value contract due to our loyalty to him. He really had no other offers at the time. If Moses signed on, we would have been happy to let Brooks go.

You best refrain from that type of talk.
I digress

Only religious fanatics talk in that kind of extremism about people who don’t subscribe to their ideology. Literally no one ever called him the second coming or anything remotely like that. It’s just lazy. And petty, because you get so frustrated that you have to exaggerate and create straw man’s.

Just wanted to see you admit you were 100% wrong as I said you were.
Not a big enough man to admit that though I see...
I didnt bother reading the rest of your post

Why should he?
He was never a star here who was touted as the next coming of Jesus for nearly a decade.
The media touted that not the fans lol… I can guarantee all these neutral brooks fans that supposedly love him just think he is an average half.
