If it’s not obvious to everybody by now that Brooks is a running five eighth and NOT a halfback then they haven’t been paying attention.

Brooks couldn’t even back himself to burn a flat footed Latrell 10 metres out with the line wide open - my daughter asked me why he grubber kicked it to Souths players instead of running?
I thought for a second then in a Jim Carey moment I turned to her and said “He was born without a brain but he’s done well with the disability because we’ve made him a millionaire” … then I farted in the elevator and said “I c_a_n’_t l_i_e”

I’ve made it clear on here I’m not a Brooks fan.

However, I think he has aimed up the last 3 weeks and I don’t think the lack of attack today should be solely aimed at him.

I don't see why this is an issue for us at all. He has a contract that ends this year. If we don't want to sign him then we don't.

I can't see a better option for one of our two halves next season but let's see what they come up with.

We should be targeting Ben Hunt as a halfback. Luke Keary as a 5/8 both will be in the outer at their clubs very shortly.

Would love hunt. I rate keary but not with his head knock issues.

If it’s for around 5-600 and they sign a marquee half as well then it’s a good outcome.

Brooks is an average half with above-average athleticism. Which doesn't really help in his position.

And his lack of game intelligence has killed us for years. Souths first try came from a horrendous crossfield bomb by Brooks, which turned into a penalty for Souths which turned into their first try. His horrible 5th tackle plays have led to so many opposition tries the past few years.

Infuriating.

We should be targeting Ben Hunt as a halfback. Luke Keary as a 5/8 both will be in the outer at their clubs very shortly.

Both are terrible at the moment. Hunt is now cooked his performances for the Drag Queens are worse than Brooks and Keary is one head knock away from retirement. We need x factor in the halves not cripples.

Really solid defensive game for Brooksy against south's.

He has been better these past few weeks.

I can't bag Brooks this week.His last ditch defence was great and frustrated South's. He is gutsy and that sets a standard. Ball in hand - it's all been said, but you all so can't ignore the quality of the opposition and their current form.

I hate posting in this thread, but really if we can't expect try assists from our halves anymore and are happy to accept that we might be as well forfeit our remaining games.

Nothing wrong with what Brooks did yesterday, except for maybe the kick when he could have backed himself. Plenty wrong with what him and Wakeham AREN'T doing. It's clear the team are rattled in the 20 and the coaches and halves aren't able to solve it.

yes you can blame Brooks, I am pretty sure it’s his/halfbacks job to be the main man in the red zone, not the only creative player, but the main man organising who and what is next?
