I said could it be our coaching or they have better players ,,your answer must be better coach / coaches then
To be perfectly honest, I don't know what to think anymore, but I think that the coaching leaves a bit to be desired and that is part of the problem.

Legend or not, Benji doesn't seem to be getting through to this group despite them all saying they love playing for Benji and I think that if there are not consistently positive signs of improvement coming from this playing group by about mid way through next season, I don't know if Benji survives.

Let's be honest it looks like we are almost certainties for the spoon this year and you would be doing well to convince me that Benji was not the head coach last year and that last year's spoon is his as well.

Don't want to see it happen but I think it is looming large as a distinct possibility that he could be sacked or at the very least, be asked to take a step back to an assistant role and make way for a more experienced head coach, whether Benji's ego allows that to happen is another matter.

No point judging the coaches or our better/ more accomplished players until the club puts a roster around them that aren’t the clear worst in the league.

2025 will probably be another struggle, I’d be happy with 9-10 wins based on what I expect our roster to be.

2026 the focus will clearly shift to the new administration and their coaching, recruitment and retention score card.

Nice mate I agree , time will tell and I would love nothing more than the club grab the 2 players coming and add just 3 solid players , prop , Backrow , centre , he could very well create a 2025 team that is tough and gritty and even if we missed the 8 in the last round it would be great , I. Just concerned he won’t get more quality and he ends up the target and leaves with a sad coaching record , he is a passionate tiger no doubt , I feel for him

Our 2025 roster looks worrisome currently due to departures and drop in form of the forward pack.
As it stands right now, Luai is getting his first spoon next year. That can change with smart recruitment for the pigs. Let’s hope some nice surprises are ahead.

There’s $2 million to spend if Paps & Stef leave. Silly to just look at what’s on the market. We all know that players get releases all the time. Richo has form at turning clubs around, there is room for hope. Forwards and a winger the priority.

I wouldn’t mind a coaching director coming in to support Benji as head coach but who is available. I don’t think a more experienced coach necessarily has this squad winning more games.
Why create complexity by adding another layer? It would only serve to feed into the #1 problem we have which is vague positional responsibilities.

I think we need someone overseeing coaching from juniors up. It’s not a CEO responsibility and if we’re relying on the cricket bloke I’m a bit worried. It would have to be someone who has worked in a development club and like a Gus or Wayne. Not sure who.

Benji should be focusing on nothing but the FG team one week at a time.

I see..Agree, there should be a seamless integration between teams where the only difference is speed and intensity. I’d like to see them playing in the same jerseys at the same home ground. Would have been a great job for Sheens and pretty sure that’s what he wanted to do.

Just out of interest, does anyone know what’s happened to Sheens ? Did he go back to the UK or is he still in Oz ?
I read a while ago he was doing a bit of work in a schools program but nothing recent.

Mate i will stand corrected, but i think he went back to uk, because his partner is english, I may be wrong .

Thanks for your feedback TE.
I went back and found the article I read dated 24 March this year which said he had signed on to coach at Westfield Sports High for 3 days a week but don’t know if that’s still happening or he has headed back over the Old Dart.

I do man....
We just don't have physicality or mental fortitude.

These blokes are all far too comfortable with being ordinary,
Only blokes doing anything at pace is Galvin and Api at times....
That's coaching.

We’ll never have an answer for sure but if you read through our 30 man roster and count the number of genuine first graders it’s a fairly sad state to be in. Then do the same for Belly ache and Robbo’s teams.

Chalk and cheese.
