Luke Brooks has the YIPS!

In sports, the YIPS are a sudden and unexplained loss of ability to execute certain skills in experienced athletes. Symptoms of the YIPS are losing fine motor skills and psychological issues that impact on the muscle memory and Decision Making of athletes leaving them unable to perform basic skills of their sport. Treatments include Sports Psychology therapy. The worst cases are those where an athlete does not recover at all forcing the player to abandon the sport at the highest level.
In summary Brooksy has "Performance Anxiety ".

Is it normal for it to last several years?

It can force sportsmen like Golfer Ian Baker-Finch into retirement. Your point is correct in so much as Luke has been OFF for a number of years. If the coach and the club feel they need to play him because of his Tom Brady like salary then play him in a position where he does NOT need to think. Just run Forrest just run (I mean Brooksy).

I think if I was coach I would do 2 options
play him at Centre , he is fast , quick turn of speed and he can defend , got some zip
or
off the bench , covering , wings , Centre , half , 5/8 , Hooker , he could play any of these if needed
pressure off him And team get a new director or ball playing 5/8

I find it interesting that Brooks’ game improves when Klemmer returns to the field for his second session.
Perhaps. Pity it doesn't improve enough to win a game. Pity it fluctuates, instead of being reliable and consistent regardless as a leaders should.

Trouble is like most of his career Luke Brooks can not handle the big moments of a game and completely goes to water.

He can't execute in the attacking zone. This is a slight exaggeration because he can execute but he comes up with the right option and executes well about 1 in every 100 times whereas the good halves get it right at least greater than 50% of the time.

He also can't handle pressure.

He is also an extremely poor ball player.

He is quick with a good running game.

A lot of players are taking dumb options or making errors in what should be clutch moments.
I guess what I’m eluding to is ...we need another Klemmer or Utoikamanu.
I see us looking very ordinary on the bench. Such a pity we couldn’t get Fletch Baker or another middle of that caliber?

That’s the thing about Brooks, at his very best he can provide barely acceptable cover for about 6 positions.

Not really the traits of a gun specialist half demanding big $$$$.

One thing I found very encouraging from yesterday’s game...when Brooks should have gone long over Kepaoa instead of through him to his unmarked winger at the line, Kepaoa turned to Brooks and called out the 10 season veteran.
The point is, it’s not an isolated case, the number of players who are winners has reached a critical mass. Sheens will keep plugging away at this until not a single recalcitrant remains.

Agreed. He gave him a proper mouthful for stuffing that up.
I am really liking Kepaoa’s attitude this year. He is causing chances out wide with his physical and aggressive presence.

I have been a fan of Brooks, but last night he cost us the game big time. I agree the team is trying and the defence is not too bad. But effort will not get the chockies if your key playmakers cannot get you across the line.
