The last two games have been the turning point for Luke this year, he has run much more, he is very vocal and his kicking game is fantastic. His bombs have been great and he is starting to find the grass on his positional kicks.
The standout has been his tackling, he had some big hits on the Warriors forwards last week and from watching him closely over the years, I have noticed when he is hitting blokes hard his confidence is up.
I hope he shows it all again tonight

At last, a post which gives due praise to Luke.

all about consistency. in 2018 it took him a couple weeks to get his tail up and then he was unstoppable. hopefully this is a similar trajectory. otherwise the knives come out again.

Luke Brooks has the talent and certainly the pace to be great but his decision making is terrible, possibly the worst of the NRL halves. If a player is running into a yawning gap you can almost guarantee Brooks will run and the very next set ignore a hole in front him to hit a runner with defenders all over him. It's like he's rehearsed something at training and is committed to going through with the play no matter what. It's fascinating yet aggravating all at once.

I think he was better last two games - but still not where he needs to be.
His long kicks still do not find grass and he never puts up any spirals. Like never. It's actually weird.

People saying his cross field kicks are pinpoint. Well, some are. When *every* last attacking kick is a cross-field-hail-mary kick then some of them are bound to be. Come on.

He isn't there for his defending - but he has made some really fantastic tackles this year. Super impressive.

If he simply kicked better and stop feeding Twal on the 5th tackle (for the most uninspiring hit-up ever) then it would go a long way towards critics (like me) getting off his case.
I really hope he does.
