Luke Brooks - Mega Thread

Luke is a good half technically and his stats prove he's up there with the top 10

The problem is that over 8 years he hasn't proven to be a leader (especially in the crunch), and the reality is a half has to be a leader, bark orders and move the cattle across the park

If Luke stays in '22 and plays at 7, he needs to find his voice and some inner mongrel.

If not we won't compete and it will be another wasted year.

If that's the issue, then partnering with someone like Hastings could allow Brooks to play his natural game. Hastings at 7 barking orders, Brooks at 6 playing what he sees.

Worth a shot at least till Douehi is back...

If brooks was to leave wasnt tommy talau a standout at 5/8 during his junior career

TT did his ACL he’ll be back on the field about the same time as AD.

It's that simple.
Coaches make BIG money, And are in the game a lot longer than players...

Compared to how the Knights should have went this last season, They were woeful...
I'd almost have them as the Worst team in the comp (Considering the playing stocks)
The fact they even made the 8 was embarrassing... The coach won't survive if they role it out again.
Having no 7 isn't going to help that not happening at all....
There's no one that can play 7 for them coming through, And Mann is ordinary mostly in 6...
Doesn't bide well.
I have no doubt they're busting they're busting their hump to get Brooks - Weather he wants to leave Sydney or not and if we get something in return would yet to be nutted out...

We BETTER be getting something in return this time.

Well there was an article last night quoting an unnamed official who said the club were fed up with the rumour. The same article stated Brooks was considering going public and putting it to bed once and for all. It stands to reason that info came from the unnamed official

It would be good if Brooks did tell us how he is feeling -is he unhappy here !

I can’t see why he would be happy given the clubs lack of success since he has been here.

Brooks is only going if the club wants it. I realise the club has done some stupid things, but this would be up there in the top 10.

His manager has certainly been telling the media that he doesn't want to play for Madge, which isn't a surprise after his tank job against the Dogs

Please enlighten me when he played these great games? House of cards is putting faith in a subpar halfback. You say he is no messiah, no one expected that just a solid halfback. His games in the U20s were solid but unfortunately this is not thatevel.

Halfback of the year 2018. WT player of the year this year. Drew comparisons to an immortal early on. They don’t hand out those accolades for nothing.

They definitely handed him the Player of the year accolade this year for nothing.

Cannot depend on Talau at all. He won't be playing for at least the first months of the season due to his injury.

ahhhhhhhhhh man, I'm not a great brooks fan tbh, I definitely used to be, especially in 2020 with benji at 6 doing amazinggggg in short kick attacks and brooks doing the support in medium to long. But the year before that and 2021 just havent been super impressed, he has had some really cool highlights in defence here and there.

Only reason I'm mentioning that is although I'm not a brooks fan I feel for the guy, he has skill, he isn't exactly able to gel with the team, and goddamn he been getting bagged out for yearssss. In reality regardless what your paycheck is that must be wearing him down.

IDC if you stick around or leave at this point, if you stick around i just pray you play your best, mayb copy the old synergy with benji but with hastings, let him do the plays and play as a support. If you leave, no hatred, I'll continue you to watch your games and hate myself when you gel better at a new team <3
