Y wasnt kimmorley helping the halves in some capacity anyway after he signed with us ?

The team entered Queensland just as he started at the club.

Because 2022 is when he starts

He started last season but not to late in the year.

Enough already.
Brooks has been given every excuse in the book already and now people are hoping Hastings can bring out a better game in him.
He's now our highest paid player - what the hell are we paying him for?
He hasn't played well for ages, his defence is a fallacy and he can't organise a team.
It's obvious from the rumours and his latest performances that he doesn't want to be here.
Cut him loose... can our performances really get much worse?

It’s not obvious at all.

The fact that another club has shown interest in Brooks and we are clinging onto him just shows we deserve to be the joke of the competition.

How long do we have to wait to cut him? Its clear he isn’t taking us anywhere.

Sign Te Maire Martin on a cheap deal and see how he goes…

Te Maire Martin suffered bad concussion and I think he has retired.

He’s back for Brisbane.

The fact is, with no better option to start 2022, we need Brooks.

Crystal ball: Brooks and Hastings start in the halves. Either they go well and we have a good problem when Douehi comes back or Douehi comes in for Brooks and we have a Hastings/Douhi halves combination. That is unless Hastings fails then we're back to Brooks/Douehi.

Regardless, we need Brooks to start the year. This will either be his last year or he will find a new gear. Either way it's progress for the team.

If Andrew Johns would love to work with Brooks, more than happy to have him as halves coach at WT 😁

Stuff Johns. We've got the man who kept him on the bench during Origin - Brett 'Mariners' Kimorley

I have a prediction. If Hastings fails, it will be Brooks fault in here.

Who ever is halfback .I hope they are barking orders on our dismal 4th and 5th tackle plays in attack .that's what we need from Hastings. We r probaly goin to have to settle with brooks at 5/8

He suffered a brain bleed, really surprised the NRL signed off on his return.

Every captain we’ve had has failed at barking. What does that tell you mate?
A 7 can spend only so much time organising everyone else’s game until it has a detrimental effect on his own game.

Agree. Until Douehi comes back from injury. We can’t be releasing another half.
Once Douehi is back in the halves then we’ll have seen enough of Hastings to know if he or Madden are up to NRL halfback standard.

Don’t think Farah was afraid to bark at people.
It’s actually part of the job description for a halfback to organise the team.
Fail.

I was referring to the last year or two, should have been more descriptive. My point is not about who is barking or not barking orders, its more to do with the effectiveness of the on field instructions given by experienced players. Mbye, Tamou, Reynolds, Brooks, doesnt matter who it is, the job is that enormous and draining when the onus should be more on the inexperienced players to fit in and read the play, read the game of their more experienced team mates.
Robbie played 2018 and 2019 and did 50 tackles each game. We had Matterson punching through the line giving us post contact metres, we had an experienced pack. I think Brooks does a reasonable job in this team. Its still a team game isn't it?

**Andrew Johns makes promise to Tigers halfback Luke Brooks if he joins the Knights**

I think it was mentioned earlier, this surely isn’t allowed?

"John's to unleash Brooks"
That should be the headline

The headline they would like to write is,

"Wests Tigers unleash Brooks for Johns to unleash Brooks"

I'll be honest, The most barking I seen Farah do was when he was running water - To be fair, I think that was when we played our best footy this year....

When he was captain, It was always very quiet behind the sticks.

Lol… you’re right he didn’t need to say much.
Some guys get the message across in different ways.
His withering looks got his message to the team but I don’t think Brooksy’s dirty looks would get the same result.
Agree we seemed to play better with Farah running the magic sponge.
Hopefully he will again next year …we’ll soon find out if there was any bad blood between him and Sheens.

PEARCE REPLACEMENT FIRMS

A new replacement for outgoing Knights star Mitchell Pearce has emerged as negotiations continue for his release.

Scott Drinkwater has firmed as a potential signing for the Knights to fill the gaping hole left in the halves.

Pearce was offered a three-year contract with the Catalan Dragons in the Super League, prompting rumours Tigers’ marquee man Luke Brooks would be making the move to the Hunter.

****Knights CEO Phil Gardner dispelled those rumours, claiming they were unable to speak to Brooks due to him being contracted until the end of 2023.****

According to the Daily Telegraph, this prompted them to look elsewhere for a reliable and proven halfback, landing on Drinkwater as a possible replacement.

Chad Townsend and Tom Dearden will likely start as the club’s first choice pairing and Maroons representatives Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow or Valentine Holmes will likely start at fullback, pushing Drinkwater out of the starting 13.

The Cowboys would reportedly release Drinkwater for an experienced forward.

The Knights desperately need to find a replacement to fill Pearce’s shoes, having only Jake Clifford in a confirmed post with Adam Clune, Phoenix Crossland, Kurt Mann and Simi Sasagi available to fill the pairing.

So it's gone from prompting rumours to new target in a week..
