He is a runner of the football. A very good one.

I want Cleary even more if we could pair him with Brooks.

Would be awesome.

Harsh,
He passed into Space, Nofa was a bit clueless in that play.
It was 100% an instinct move which is good to see, we used to see Moses play the same way at times.
Nofa needed to be a bit more aware in that instance.

Can’t disagree more, nothing I saw from that performance gave me the impression that he is a running five eight.

A ball running 5/8 would suit him down to the ground.

Where did I say a number 6?

I said he is very good runner of the ball?

I think that would be a good combination with Cleary in the halves.

Think it helped tonight that Farah didn't overplay his hand.

I'm loving his defence, and it's clearly giving him confidence in his game all 'round.

Would of rathered he did not pass the ball to the side line on the second tackle.

Only saw this once, but was it not also partly Nofo being too deep?

Sorry your right, you didn’t, I’m just used to reading it as the common statement.
It’s each to their own but I still think he is a 7 a developing one, but if you were going to give him time in one position it’s 7.
Cleary on the other hand is a great kicker but he plays on the back of momentum he doesn’t generally create it. He also runs probably the most support meters in the game. His a big body and great runner. Reminds me a lot of a Trent Barrett mould. He could play 6 easier than Brooks could.

If we don’t wrap him up, he’s gonna be in demand. Does anyone think the Panthers, Roosters, Storm and the Broncos won’t be interested if he’s unsigned come 2020? No chance.

This is my recruitment point. Most other clubs upgrade players quick smart. Why do we wait so long.
“Hey Josh, I’m going on a holiday. Just wait till I get back and we’ll sign something” - are you kidding? Far out - get the job done!
Resign and upgrade Brooks now.

Who would have said that 12 months ago? Boy, we sure dodged a missile by taking Brooks over Mitch Moses. Great call by IC.

Very satisfying seeing him grow and realise his potential. With Maloney on the slide towards retirement, I reckon he will be in a shootout with Keary as the Long term halves partner for NC in the SOO squad.

Its a bit early to be talking about SOO a year out. However, if he stays and partners up with Cleary, his Origin stocks sky rocket. The common thing these days is to play a halves pairing who play together at club level. Playing well alongside Cleary would get him one foot in the door.

He's been one of the Tigers best all season - just needs the pigs to do their job and he'll always create chances off the back of it.

Ivans coaching and not having moses stuffing him up is working wonders

Agreed.Watching Brooks tonight I thought I was watching Andrew Johns. His defence,Kicking game and running game were superb.Only the second time I would use a Johns analogy on Brooks. The first was his first game in first grade VS St George at SCG.

If the Roosters get this bloke I will scream.

Think he needs his own thread after tonight..people are critical of his game management ..I've seen it said he doesn't have it and never will ..just looking at his raw stats..

1 TRY
1 TRY-Assist
1 Field Goal
1 Line Break
2 Line Break Assists
7 Tackle Breaks
18 Tackles
4 missed
1 Off load
1 error
97 run metres
223 kick metres
1 repeat set

There was also a time we were under the pump ..Brooks found the sideline 10m out from the Knights line another time shortly after had Pongo taking it out from the same corner.. and late in the game rather than going for a pass or kick on the last at the risk of giving up a 7 tackle set he took the tackle 15m out down a short side so the Knights had to dig it out from their end..

Now I don't know what more he could do in managing a game whatever that is..

Well played Luke..

So you have never watched Joey Johns, Cooper Cronk, Cameron Smith et al ?

Brooks played well tonight. He has to learn to play like this week in and week out.

Brooks has to be signed to an extension as first priority he is our best player and his form is a credit to him. In terms of culture we have to reward him for sticking with the Tigers and improving with the pressure on him.
The damage done by not retaining home will outweigh Nathan Clearys signature.

A spine of Liddle, Cleary, Brooks, Mbye is as good a young spine as you can get. It could setup the Tigers for years. If you can back these guys up with Farah, Marshall and Reynolds we have massive depth.

It also wouldn’t be too long injury permitting ESL or another club would seek a subsidised Reynolds. If fit he is a starter at numerous clubs and better than Foran, Hodkinson, Brimson, TeMaire Martin, Connor Watson, Sam Williams, Townsend.

It will hurt our forward depth but with some astute purchases you never know. Fonua, MCK, Garner, Clarke can cover our departing players. I’m sure we could get a few cost effective forwards to do a job.

I’m a critic of his game management and was proved correct again as he had an easy option to kick the ball out and get us some time, with about 5 to go , but got lost and took the last tackle giving them an opportunity.
He had a pretty decent game apart from that … but I wonder how many good games he can put together in a row.
