FTR, Pom never said he had re-signed. He said he would re-sign, several weeks before the Roosters were linked to him. Who knows what may have happened between those 2 things.

If Brooks goes does go. Does anyone actually think we will end up with someone better?
I say we are about an 80% chance of getting someone worse. 10% chance of getting someone equal to Brooks and a 10% chance of getting someone better.

Not sure how accurate but here's the list of halves off contract at the same time as Brooks.

Lachlan Croker, Brock Lamb, Benji Marshall, Te Maire Martin, Corey Norman,
Fa'amanu Brown, Cooper Cronk, Troy Dargan, Tyson Gamble, Ata Hingano, Trent Hodkinson, Ryley Jacks, Shaun Johnson, Luke Metcalf, Mitchell Moses, Darren Nicholls, Connor Tracey, Billy Walters, Sam Williams

Thats not an inspirational list.

Apart from cronk and shaun Johnson. The rest are well …. . Not for us and c3rtainly nowhere near Brooks at his worst.

From what i understand there are no direct quotes from anyone either Roosters or Tigers in relation to Luke brooks.

This is nothing more than a rumour, started by The Mole i think it was.

You know what it may have legs, there might be fire with this smoke but at this stage we have ZERO evidence of anything happening.

Early on in the Ivan Cleary thing it had already documented he had had lunch with the Penrith CEO Bryan Fletcher and was "interested" in coaching his son at the club.

At least with Cleary we had something to go off of.

Brooks to Roosters is pure speculation.

Luke had had several latte's with Tedesco and many lunches…

Even if he was 100% sure he wanted to stay, his manager would be wise to "leak" a story like this to up his price.

Now days a player does not have to be off contract to be available. There just has to be agreement by the existing club (if contract is over 12 months) to allow negotiations to take place.

Look not for us but some good names there.
Brock Lamb/Tyson Gamble are both halves that could improve a lot.
Hodkinson I believe has resigned with Manly.

Te Marie Martin, Corey Norman, Mitchell Moses and Sam Williams could fill a gap. I wouldn't want to sign them but if Brooks left, I would push Sam Williams into the halves as a stop gap.

Meh looking at it all. Hope we have resigned Brooks.

There was also him tweeting a response to Tedesco re Finals footy… "finals footy, what's that?"

MM on nose at Parra, Tells you something

At a low cost, would be a good pick up for us.

Bravo. :master:

I could not think of a comment more likely to get a reaction on this forum… Ok Maybe make Issac Moses in charge of the board and Joe Wehbe head coach.

If we have the Eels subsidise his contract significantly and with the often stated tough coach Maguire on station, he could be a good signing. Yes his selfish antics aren't likely to win favour but he can play.

He can play but he cannot work in a team or defend?
We need min 1 good defender in the halves, otherwise it will be the last 10 years again.

Sadly some player managers are just too much trouble. Issac Moses and Sam Ayoub are just not worth dealing with.

"The bottom line is that if the Roosters want Luke Brooks, they will get Luke Brooks," Mark Geyer said on Triple M Rush Hour.

Why is it that everyone makes the same assumption and openly states it. Why will the Roosters necessarily get Luke Brooks? What are they offering that other clubs won't or can't? Is the NRL concerned by this common assumption?

If this is truly the case then it is simply admitting that the salary cap isn't working and the Rorters rort the system. I don't actually believe it's true. The rorters don't get every top player in the game and they do let players go. I think that they are scamming the cap though. I also think that it's not as bad as what it appears to be and it seems worse than what it is because players like Tedesco are people with low character.

The key is after market contracts. Roosters can just tap a corporate exec and ask them to hire Luke's brother in a stupid role.

But no reason why we can't play the game. Balmain is no longer working class.

i personally have never heard of it, haven't heard of it for quite a number of years now, all i have heard is "wooden spoon" :brick:

Correct. Brooks is signed for 2019\. It’s what happens after that is the issue.

Yes, I was just answering the question above my post.

Hope we get some good news on the Luke Brooks front this week…be nice to put it to bed before pre-season..

Hoping he re signs and then goes on to take N Cleary's origin jersey. Just out plays him in every way, all season long.
