He agreed to terms a long time ago as I mentioned awhile ago, just the final year was a sticking point & Issac Moses made it a bigger issue than it needed to be.
He wanted it to be 4 years in total & not an option as the final year. Made his threats & tried to play games with the club but we didn’t budge.
Glad it’s finally done now & one big piece of the puzzle locked in.

That's great news. Congratulations to the club for making it happen. Hoping Brooks will become a Tiger legend.

Luke Brooks commits to Wests Tigers.

Wests Tigers are extremely pleased to announce that halfback Luke Brooks will remain with the club for at least the coming five years.

Under the new agreement, the reigning Dally M Halfback of the Year has signed a new four-year deal that will keep him at Wests Tigers until the end of the 2023.

The 23-year-old has played 107 NRL games for Wests Tigers since making his debut in 2013 and recently won the club's Kelly Barnes Award for his achievements in 2018.

Brooks, a Wests Tigers junior, said he was thrilled to be extending his time with the club.

"I'm pretty excited to be here for the next five years, I've been here my whole career and I'm happy to stay," said Brooks.

"We're building something nice here, with Madge [Michael Maguire] coming in he's a successful coach and I think he's going to be good for our team.
\
\
"This club means a lot to me and I really love this club, I love playing here, I love playing with all of the boys, it's what I've known for pretty much all of my life and I'm happy to be here," he said. "This will allow me to just focus on footy and now I've just got to play consistent footy and do my job for the team.

"I just want to build on what we did last year as a team and for myself I want to keep playing consistent footy," said Brooks. "I want to do my bit for the team and grow as a player and a person and work on my leadership as well.

"I've been in first grade for five years now and that's a side of my game that I want to work on, the leadership around training and on the field as well."

Wests Tigers Head Coach Michael Maguire said that he's keen to continuing to work with Brooks to take his game to the next level over the coming seasons.

\
"Luke is a well experienced half now and at the prime of being able to take all of the learnings to this point to a whole new level," said Maguire.

"Sitting down and talking to him about his game he's hungry to learn and hungry to improve on where he's at. He prides himself on his defence and obviously he's very keen to learn the different styles of play that I've had experience with working with a number of halfbacks over a number of years.
\
\
"Luke's a player who's really willing and open to learning his style, as well as understanding what others see when they're playing and that's something that can help him further develop his game.

"He loves the club, he's a passionate Wests Tigers kid and I'm enjoying working with him," he said. "To see one of our local juniors coming through and doing the things that he's doing is great for this club and for its future and what we want to achieve."

Wests Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe said he looked forward to having Brooks as a part of the club until at least the end of 2023.

"To have the reigning Dally M halfback of the year commit to our club long-term is a great boost heading into season 2019 and a reflection of where the club is currently positioned," said Pascoe. "Luke is a local junior and has been a part of this club for some time and we are thrilled that he has chosen to stay with Wests Tigers.

"I'm sure that Madge will help him take his game to the next level and I am also sure that as a club we will continue to develop Luke off the field.

"Luke is an impressive young man and I look forward to seeing him continue to grow over the coming five years," he said.

Great job from the recruitment team.

Having someone of the caliber of Brooks commit long term and someone like Maguire join our club says a lot.

Just 2 more - fast centre, tough front rower, and we will be very competitive

Congrats on the new contract, Luke. Glad the club got it done before the season started.
