Feel for Brooksy. His time is up at the Tigers the club and player would be better off severing ties. Too many years of battling has drained his confidence. He can be a good NRL player at another club he has the talent just doesn’t look like he’s thinking at all about his footy.

People say this , and it’s probably true , but I think what they’re really saying , is “im off him and I’m sick of watching him lose , so I want anyone else “ . Just my opinion , if it’s the Jock Madden era soon I’m all for it , but I will always think we messed up a good un, in brooks .

For me it’s clear he’s cooked at the Tigers. Douihei is basically a rookie half and a way better player. We are not winning anything for years. Better off trying youth and giving them a chance. We are losing anyway squad is not up to standard.

Brooks to the Raiders or Rabbits would be the best move if they move on from their halfbacks. We would have to cover 300 or so but it’s the smart play for all parties.

Yea I agree actually . Stick a 21 year old with the other 3 , 21/22 year old or younger spine , and let them grow . And that means madden for me . I rate brooks , but our window is not with him here , and he will be 28 by the time that opens up , and borderline suicidal I reckon if he has to put up with 2 more years of this garbage . Which a lot is his doing yes .

Ive said my piece on Brooks before but my only observation is and I want people to be honest in their hearts in responding to this. Would Roosters / Storm / Raiders, or most any other club, have persisted with Brooks 'ón potential' for this long? Look how ruthless they are with team selections, recruitment and dismissal.

Where are they and where are we?

Brooks game management has been poor this year...he cannot put a decent grubber into the in goal.... his cross field kicks are mostly ineffectual....both the club and he needs a change of scenery

If you are the coach it's hard to drop Brooks because defensively our team sucks and Brooks often makes the tackles that no one else can or will put their body on the line to do it.

Time to move on - for the benefit of both parties. Had his career gone a different path from the initial stages he could have been what we thought he would be. Fact of the matter is, he isn't and it is to the detriment of both the club and Brooks to keep following this pattern.

I like Brooks but it is time to move on. Madden hope you get your debut next week.

Flanagan was talked up as the next big thing and after one year the roosters cut him. Croft was the next Cronk, and was released once they realised. We will never play finals or win games consistently as long as Brooks is our number 7. That grubber kick on last that went straight to their player and they score 2 minutes later killed us and just typifies exactly what Brooks is about. Everyone wanted him to succeed to show the ones that left that they made the wrong decision. But he doesn’t have it. Time to move on.

Difference is we’re expecting brooks to carry around a bunch or outcasts, rejects and want to be’s. Those clubs just ask a half to come in and get the basics right.

Or maybe we can’t attract decent players because they know Brooks will be the half !
Even Geo said it would be better for both parties to part ways .

His cross field kicks are highly effective eg last week when we scored from one.

Could be part of it mate. Who knows. The fact that all the good players head straight for the exits would be my guess.

Honestly they might. Look at Wighton.

The best comparison I can think of is Brodie Croft at Storm, he was their equivalent of Brooks.

Needs a few weeks in reserves. He is playing average, predictable football. Madden deserves a chance too based off his form.

Or a few months, really just no way he can continue as our 7. Douehi is what 6 games in to 5/8 and running rings around him already. At this stage we may as well just play a prop for 7.

He's got zero confidence and is a liability out there.

Madden is probably not the answer right now, but he's got potential to one day be it. No point watching Brooks make the same mistakes over and over again.

I hope he picks madden so when we concede over 30 and lose and you all have no scapegoat

And if Madden slays it ?
Will you concede ?

My very argument is that the halfback is far from our worst problem. So Madden slaying it will likely still result in countless tries down our edges and a disappointing loss. So no net change.

But if we’re winning it doesn’t matter

I don’t think this team will win many more games this year. Nathan Cleary in the 7 wouldn’t make much difference

Yes he would.

Yes he would.

Maybe if he brings To’o, Chrichton, Luai, Kikau, fisher-Harris and Yeo with him ?

Doueihi is so damn good, what a classy player. Was even taking runs like a prop when no one else wanted to. A true leader and a very good footballer.
