All the runaround and blaming this guy, the coach, the ball boy… but the person in the most important and influential position in our team is Luke Brooks.
Sadly, he doesn’t cut it.
The halfback in ANY team is always the one under pressure when the team is failing.
It seems we are the only club who doesn’t do something about it - no matter how long it drags on.
First thing I would do today is get on the phone to England and offer to pay whatever transfer fee they want to get Hastings here right ASAP.
It’s now just embarrassing watching Brooks flounder and drag the team down with him…. and even more embarrassing to be a supporter.

Well... that certainly doesn't make any sense.
You're better off sticking with calling people fools or stupid ....or telling them how much better you understand the game than anybody who doesn't agree with you.

I’m telling you, people are in for a rude shock if they expect him to save us from Brooks

I was hoping he was the answer. I still hope that I'm right. I've been hoping for a winning footy team for a long time.

Going forward how about we only make positive comments about him and leave the disappointment to later.

Nah I think it was deleted by a mod. Meh , they’re probably right , it’s rehashing old ground.

I will say 1 thing more though . I do think people are right about the lack of killer instinct in Brooks. And our attack can look stilted at times. But that wasn’t on Saturday night . We should have had 7 tries
But that’s not why we lost 36-28 , and it’s not why we are 2 and 7 . It might be the difference between being an elite team in the future , but for now , we have to start defending , and figuring out what our defensive issues are first .

Once that’s sorted , if brooks deserves the punt, do it , but you can’t blame him for the other sides defence . Well you can , but you’d be just focusing on the wrong things.
It’s not to say there isn’t an issue with the half , but you can’t win footy games by letting in 6 tries , unless you have a guy like benji in the team . Benji circa 2005-2011 that is . And I’ve only ever seen 1 of him in my lifetime .

Stats are he is playing in the ESL behind arguably the best forward pack and couldn't roll Hull

Stats are he's probably won 80% of matches he's played in over the last 3 years. Including with a bog average Salford pack in front of him. I wouldn't write him off over 1 loss to a strong Hull side (coached by Hodgo!)

It’s reserve grade mate ! Look at what Liddle and Simpkin are doing in KOE cup , and now look how nullified they are in NRL. I’m not confident at all Hastings isn’t just a squad player , no better than Billy Walters .

Yes NRL is the superior comp right now, but Super League is nowhere near as bad as people make out. And it consistently produces players who star in the NRL.

? The competition is inferior man . It’s not some anti English thing , or Aussie elitism. That’s not to say there arnt quality players in that league though . It’s just that many “elite “ players to come over have been average at best . So people are , IMO justified , wary of jumping on the hype train , of a guy , who has failed and fired by 2 clubs here , but kill it over there . Doesn’t mean he hasn’t turned into a gun , but it could be fools gold . Especially when other guns over there , can be tigers legends like Josh Drinkwater , and Jacob Miller. Or Rangi Chase . Not to diminish those guys at all .

I look forward to the lament thread exploding if Brooks goes to another club.

There will be no lament from me, I am lamenting after 8 years we are still accepting his game, which has not reached the heights we had hoped, but in fact regressed so much he is holding the team back

The new coach would decide to keep Brooks based on what? His winning record? His excellent leadership of the team on the footy field? His second to none kicking game? Base on what would any coach play Brooks in their time.

You shouldn’t comment on footy if you don’t realise the difference in situations..

The bulldogs actually turn up to play and defend, they actually put in an effort. The biggest issue for them is scoring points.

We are the complete opposite, we can score points but we leak 30+ and let the easiest try’s in. So hooking brooks (one of the best defenders in the team) not only does that not make any sense it’s also the stupidest thing we could do.

Jesus shouldn’t even have to explain that.

Bring in Billy Walters for Brooks. We need to see if a change at 7 improves our team or not. He is more experienced than Madden. Also an opportunity to see if Billy is worth holding onto next season

I’d go with that, Billy is more dynamic than Brooks and he can warm the seat for Hastings or Madden next season.
Billy won’t stay though, he’ll be at the Broncos next season.

Looks like the Billy to the Broncos could be happening sooner than we think due to the injury to Carrigan

Does Jesus understand NRL? Have we thought about a contract for Jesus on the coaching staff? If he/she can explain stuff, that's a good start.
