Brooks tries hard. Unfortunately he seems a dumb footballer in a team full of them.

His running game was good yesterday, his kicking was terrible and passing not much better.

Does not play what is in front of him and others have mentioned game management, but I think it is more that he just cannot read a game.

All these years - I just wish Brooks got to play in a decent team.
His whole family are Tigers fans - and that may well be the problem.

Brooks has all the Talent in the world - And on that alone, I'd have him over most halves I seen on the weekend.

His biggest problem is - HE CAN'T SPEAK!!
You can't be a leader with zero voice.
He looks at the ground and mumbles his way through interviews.... always has done, and will do. He'll never - ever be a dominant half....

I've held out hope until this weekend....
Even in a losing team - Halfbacks still have a voice. He's just happy to be out there running around in the team colours. Not only does he need to not be our 7 - He needs not to be anywhere near our system. As long as he is, He'll be allowed to be a passenger every week..... We need a general - not a fanboy.

Yeah I think a big change of location and a coach who knows how to get the best out of him might be the change he needs. Cowboys and Payten would be great for him. I don’t care if he kills it. I would pay to see it but it’s not happening here. He seriously needs to put his hand up think about retiring or moving on.

It's an absolute failure of recruitment that we are two rounds into the season with no alternative to a half back who was very poor last year and isn't showing any signs of improvement this year.

Brooks is on a downwards trajectory and this should have been identified and remedied long before now.

We can't afford to throw another season in the bin waiting for him to improve when it's clear to the vast majority of League watchers that he never will.

I thought Jock Madden was the clear alternative to Brooks? He played a prominent part in the trials.

Also Dockar-Clay was brought in.

They definitely plan for halves backups - I've seen the team depth chart - but that's a different thing entirely to signing someone better than Brooks, to replace him.

Thanks for the new screensaver.

Hagipantelis looks as if he's ready for marching, brooks seems half-hearted, & Pascoe needs a good makeover ?

Mate - The guys is mid way through his career and can't speak....
He's had Payten - Couldn't speak then either!!
No voice - no desire...

The guy couldn't run a team of bricklayers - Anyone running cattle in any organisation in any industry needs A Level communication....
He doesn't have it... Never has - Never will.

I watched Fogarty running his side on the weekend - Constant chat and direction...
Half a season ago he was a "never was" - He leaves our bloke for dead.

Brooks and Laurie were theonly ones who looked likely on Sunday . Just saying ! Doesn’t excuse his kicking game , As that’s just A grade at this point , but things like “he’s the worst footballer to play 150 games “ really show the irrationality of the person saying it , than reality . But yes his kicks are garbage . There’s no defending that .

He's not the worst player to play 150 games but I can't think of a less inspiring halfback playing NRL at the moment.

You obviously haven't watched the broncos and their dynamic halves.

Yep , that’s fair . But it can change from week to week . Like I’ve said , I’ll reserve judgment until we play teams that don’t have 8-10 internationals. As there’s 2 competitions. The top 4-5 and everyone else .

Honestly he could have played against an under 10's team team yesterday and would have been outclassed. He's done. He's just not up to it anymore.

Doueihi was worse, but IMO deserves a bit more leeway as it was his first proper crack in the halves for 80 mins

I agree with @Strongee though , unless we sign Munster and Cleary tomorrow, give them their time in the sun as we don’t exactly have blokes knocking on the door anyway

I am a massive Doueihi fan but he was absolutely terrible. But he hasn't played 150 games in the halves.

So because of 150 games you want the guy to solve miracles ? I don’t understand this argument . A good kicking game wasn’t changing Morris and teddy destroying BJ .

He has no killer instinct, he does all the little things wrong and he never, ever motivates his teammates. At the moment he is the worst halfback in the NRL.

I disagree he is currently 15th ahead of DCE at the moment..

14th - he has to be ahead of Croft.

Yeah he sucks big time ..
There isn’t enough talent around these days to fill 16 teams and the morons at HQ want another team ?

His biggest problem is his personality. Nothing wrong with being the quiet type, but as a halfback, when you cross the white line, it’s time to become an animal. I’ve never seen him show emotion, he just takes his everyday personality onto the field, which is a big problem.

That’s fine mate . But it doesn’t change my point , Andre johns wasn’t going to fix the picnic the roosters were having on that edge . You can build pressure all you want , but the moment they spun it right , it was a 50m gain . Of course Brooks was ? apart of that edge , but not really the root cause .

He did punch Gagai in the head, that was pretty good.

Don’t you think the experienced players all of them should of seen it coming and could of moved up closer or slid out further to combat it.
At this stage I couldn’t care less about the lack of talking in an attacking set.
The whole team or side to side players are not communicating in defence.
