Someone suggest an alternative and I'll listen. I'd take Brooks over Moses, too.
You all are way over top reactionary. yeah, yeah...no finals, can't manage a game, but he's a good player, and probably best defensive halfback behind Cleary. You all realise how many EXTRA tries we'd leak with just about any other half in the game?
Also, I think he plays with heart and is getting better. Is he up there with Cleary, Hughes, Keary, DCE? No, but even DCE looks bog average when team around him is not going well.
Again, if we have a better alternative lets go for it, and lets go for a number of up and coming halves, but we've got nothing better out there so you all need to get off Brooks' back.
The extent of criticism of Brooks with absolutely no alternative offered is ridiculous.
Mate anyone is an alternative , literally anyone. You cannot have your halfback have absolutely zero traits of what it takes to be a halfback. It’s like saying a forward should be kept in the team because he can catch a bomb. He gives us zero game management , he gives us zero field position. He has no voice. Enough is enough.
yeah, no worries. When you see 'anyone' running out there in our dumb team you'll be wishing we had Brooks back. Again, not the best halfback in the league but who is your alternative? Ash Taylor's available. You prefer him? Maybe we could nab Jr Flanagan? Harris-Tavita? Mitchell Pearce? None are better imo.
Remember how everyone couldn't wait to get rid of Benji so that our defense would improve and he was stifling our attack? Not saying I don't understand getting rid of Benji but neither our attack or defense has improved without him.
Mate other clubs move their halfback on even after they have had success. Ash Tsylor was the million dollar man , everyone wanted him. Two years later and no one will touch him for $250k. Croft the next big thing. 3 years later, 2 clubs later he is going to England. Flanagan is another one. Roosters cut him, bulldogs after half a dozen games realise he hasn’t got it. The list goes on. How many games will it take to realise he isn’t going to get us there? Why are we the only club who keeps persisting with a halfback who hasn’t achieved anything and give him a pay rise everytime.
Payback for staying with us when Moses,Tedesco &Woods pissed off!
