Sheens will help Brooks improve for sure

Didn't Sheens recruit Brooks at some ridiculously young age due to his talent? Now with Sheens aboard the team may play the style of footy WTs have in its DNA.

Sheens is not and probably never will be, the coach again, stop daydreaming it’s 2005.

Ha, now who does Maguire report to so he can get his instructions?

Do you have any idea how management structures work?

TW I know you're a big fan of Madge but noone, including Madge, would think he's still in control. Sheens seems to be now in charge of everything football related. It's yet to be seen if it's a good thing or not.

But he wont tell the coach how to coach, no manager would?
You don't buy a dog and bark yourself.
TBH, I don't think Sheens is capable of doing it any longer.

TW, if Sheens wants Madge to jump, Madge will be asking how high.

7 Brooks
6 Hastings
centre Douhie
fullback Laurie
9 Hodgo
13 Peachey

good side

No such thing as a good side if Brooks is 7. He'd take the Panthers to 9th

**I think Sheens will be telling Madge it's his way or the highway - to get into line or get out like Hartigan. Sheens is not a hands off guy.** If you're expecting him to sit back and leave Madge alone I think you'll be disappointed.

But I agree, it remains to be seen if Sheens does have it any longer, but the last 3 years have shown that Madge definitely doesn't. That's why getting in the right assistants is so important.

If Sheens was to do that, then Madge has a long career here, as he will have no ownership of decisions made by him.

I would expect Sheens to offer support when asked for, nothing less. But certainly they will speak about things, as they should.

As long as they keep paying him, then yes, Sheens is the boss. But Bosses don't normally micromanage the top staff. Besides, they are old mates, if they weren't, he wouldn't have survived the review.

Keep hoping for the worst though.

Can you imagine Sheens accepting the five hit-ups and a bomb coached by Maguire? They are the antithesis of one another when it comes to styles of football played by their respective teams. I'm looking forward to this new era.

Sheens didnt "recruit" Brooks, Brooks is a Balmain junior that steadily came through the junior reps until given his debut by Mick Potter.

He was signed to our club otherwise he would not have been at WTs. I recall reading advice Sheens had visited the Brooks' home to sign him up. I am happy to be corrected but that is my recollection.

Brooks always been a Balmain junior through Holy Cross Ryde, and with Balmain in Matthews Cup and SG Ball, however Brooks was playing 1st grade pre season games in 2013 with Wests Tigers , however I would imagine this would have put in place by Sheens the previous year

To put it bluntly, the Tigers won’t win the premiership until they realise that Luke Brooks isn’t the answer.

This is no knock on Brooks. He has the talent, but the 26-year-old just isn’t fulfilling what the Tigers need. After eight full seasons in the halves, it’s time for the club and Brooks to part ways. It’ll be a tough — and awkward — conversation. Brooks is a local junior and grew up as a big supporter of the club, but a fresh start would allow him to work on his craft in a new system. What the Tigers have been doing simply hasn’t worked.

The more this stays in the media, the better.
💯

The arm wrestle will still be in the game. Maguires tactic of kicking to a corner and defending your way to a win is still the way to win at rugby league. We just have a lot of horrible defenders who crumble like weetbix.

Didn’t a CEO or someone of that ilk, try similar on Sheens and only Sheens was left standing, when he was last here?

I would think if it was tried now by Sheens on Madge, what coach would want to coach here, only the desperate?
