Luke Lewis

I hope he doesn't join… Over-hyped player for mind.

Too much mileage in those legs and never replicates State of Origin form in club games.

Money would be better spent elsewhere (like for a freakin' established halfback!)

Played alright last night. Apart from dumb penalties and handling errors…

Smoking gun - when you say we've had to bump our offer, do you mean because of the dogs supposed offer ? Or just because of luke/managers wants more ? Are we still in with a shot ?

This is only word of mouth from around the club, but we originally offered 325k per season sharks were 360k tigers are prefered destination for Luke for several reasons manager asked us to up it we came back to 385k which will make him the second highest paid at the club behind benji.

Thanks smoking gun,
Based on that, we've certainly done the best we can and if we miss out, so be it.

Has anyone seen their payment summary for the year?

If u believe everything that's in the papers we would have 2.1 mil a season tied up in 4 players.

totally agree with you , just like the Blair saga $500,000 + per season . These morons have to sell papers.

If the papers are correct we have

Marshall 550k
Farah 450k
Blair 500k
Lote 400k
Ellis 400k

So 2.3 mil in 5 players so that leaves 1.6 mil for 20 more players that leaves an average of 80k a player when min contract is 65k, yeah I don't think so

It's not over for tigers regardless of doggies offer. He wants to come to tigers. Tigers just working on 3rd party sponsors and a post NRL career job.
My tip is tigers

The way I see it - I think body language between lewis and the guys after the match against penrith really showed something to be excited about..

They weren't just quick handshakes and thanks for the game - to me it seemed like "great game mate, see you soon" type convos..there was obvious ass kissing going on but I think he looked extremely comfortable and relaxed around them..Robbie also looked like he directed him over to the sidelines to have a quick chat to someone also..possibly Skando ?

I also think that his future after his playing career is going to be a huge draw card..we all know how solid the WT are in training scholarships and avenues to Persue after player careers are complete..I can see this factor alone as being the cream on the cake for us….I'm wayyy more confident now than I was last week.

Yeah I agree, Tigerizzed. It was really like a 'welcome to the club' session. Not something I've ever seen happen before with a 'free agent' who hadn't officially made a decision about his future.

exactly ,If the papers are true in there info: how on earth would you fit Lawrence, Galloway , Woods , Heighno, Fulton , Ayshford , Murdoch-Masila , should i go on…...

Farah and Marshall also fall under "longterm" so i believe there is a concession there plus there is a fair bit of third party deals involved in that.
Also and i could very well be wrong but i remember a few years ago wasn't there a cap exemption of 25%-50% for one player (Marquee Player) or something along those lines?

That's not what the papers are saying at all.

Just because a player is being payed 550k for example, doesn't mean that's all subject to the cap.

It might be 350k salary cap and 200k 3rd party sponsors which doesn't get calculated under the cap

There is a 100k exemption for 10 year players at the one club but that 100k is not for each player it's just for that season so if Farrah and Marshall both went 10 years in the same year the club would have to divvy that up as they see fit

Bit not all players can attract 3rd party sponsors. Obviously it's the higher profile players that do

Do u know how third party works?

First off its a max of 150k
Second that 3rd party can't have any affiliation with the club otherwise it does count towards the cap. That's why 3rd party details are so complex
