No player in the history of football has ever given the slightest toss about a CEO's haircut.

You’re over simplifying it.

Experience A : ultra professional operation invites me to tour their world class sporting facilities, presents me with a folder containing a list of additional benefits I can expect when I sign on the dotted line later that day.

Wests Tigers: unshaven sloppy looking guy buys me a coffee, hopes I get back to him in the next month or two. I won’t.

seriously mate?

Mate, I just managed to rattle off 13 current origin players we have either released or tried to sign but failed.

Until we look inwardly at why we are stuffed.

Sometimes the truth hurts.

And none of that had anything to do with a guy having a shave.

It is a direct portrayal of professionalism. I know it shouldn’t matter, but it does.

I've shaved max 10 times in the last 10 years and has never made a difference for me professionally.

Ever signed a footy player to a multi million dollar deal? Like it or not footy is a business, and image is part of it. Our image is not good.

Na, but have been Principal at multiple schools, ran my own business doing strategic planning for small to medium sized businesses and now run a multi million $ business and my appearance has never been of any consequence.

I’m sure you are a successful person and your appearance shouldn’t matter one way or another but Wests Tigers are in direct competition with Nick Politis (billionaire) and News Ltd (multi- billion dollar company).

We need to present better or we’ll continue to be the worst option.

Disagree , and if you doubt my job history or my appearance there are enough people on here that have met me personally to vouch for both lol

Yeah, footballers care about his hair lol.

Our club hasn't played finals footy in 9 years, has a bad wrap for treating players and players would come here if the CEO had a shave and a haircut.

You’re a CEO, you’re paid quite well. Seriously, it’s not hard to shave and have a haircut. The fact we even went to that meeting is an embarrassment.

I’m sorry . He looks like an “unmade bed”.
There’s been a fair bit a chatter how our front office let slip Sam McIntyre to the Titans, attributing his loss to management’s “sloppiness”.
There is a correlation between ones own presentation and attention to detail.

Rubbish, I have a very generous beard, that had no correlation to my performance at work.

Imagine how fast at Oztag you'd be without it ....must admit miss my beard

This is the issue imo, the club has been underachieving for the past 9 seasons, players balk at coming here.

I do think we need to pay overs for a couple of players to get that thinking out of there heads.

The club is doing well in everything else from what I hear and see, so start making the top 8 and most of the crap stuff goes away.

Do not pay overs. Never compromise. Compromising is that fatal mistake that we seem to like to repeat.

But then I see a problem come June 31 at some stage in the future when we have to spend overs just to reach our minimum cap spend ....so that then leads to the next question ...wouldn't rathe spend overs on someone you really need / want than spend overs on someone who you signing for the sake of it ??

I’d rather not pay overs at all.

Neither would I ....but this can't continue mate ......3-4 years of no finals and the NRL might fold us like a pack of cards ...and you couldn't or wouldn't blame them

I love this club as much as the next lady or gent ...but reality tells me we need to change asap and we need it yesterday

I wonder if when Russell Crowe is talking to potential new Souths recruits his infrequent shaving is an issue?

Movie Star free pass lol. My beard is much better than his lol

No but the blue Wiggle mysteriously should be brought in when the potential new recruit shows up with their young kids ....

The thing is this. If your thinking about joining a club but you have doubts to the professionalism of the place because all youve heard from ex players is bad stuff, then you meet the boss and he looks like a hobo, your doubts start to become truth.

Perception is reality.

It would depend on how he sold the vision of the place to me and have nothing to do with how he looked.

You’ve got a point there gall, but also remember people make decisions based on trust and trust is developed by commonality. Sometimes commonality is seen in appearance but more often than not it is developed through ideas, feelings and beliefs.
Therefore the initial meeting should be with the person most qualified and that person should at all times be the dominant contact within the organisation.

It shouldn't matter but it does. Do you think this is how he looked when he interviewed for his job? Not a chance.
